Pinglin Aquatic Suspension Bridge Introduction
The Shinsui Suspension Bridge, located at the end of the Pinglin business district in Pinglin District, New Taipei City, can be accessed via the stairs next to the signboard by the gas station. The original concept for the Pinglin Shinsui Suspension Bridge is represented by the phrase "Twin Dragons Embrace, Blessing Pinglin." This suspension bridge spans the Beishi River, measuring approximately 60 meters in length and 2 meters in width. It connects the aquatic observation trails on both banks of the Beishi River and links attractions such as the Pinglin Tea Museum, the Pinglin Suspension Bridge, and the business district. This spot also offers the best elevated vantage point for observing fish swimming below, revealing shimmering schools of fish beneath the bridge, their high density astonishing visitors. It has become a must-visit location for tourists. The conservation efforts for the Beishi River in Pinglin have proven to be successful, leading many visitors to bring fish food and bread to feed the fish from the bridge. Although the local authority does not prohibit this practice, it is important to remind visitors not to throw garbage into the river, as it pollutes the water source and could be harmful to the fish.
