金溪駐在所外觀

Pinglin is a well-known tea town in northern Taiwan, rich in natural resources and with old houses quietly recording the cultural stories of the area. During the Japanese occupation, in order to maintain public order, collect taxes, and monitor resisting citizens, the Japanese established a police station here, which has a history of over a century. Now transformed into a private residence, the Jinxi Police Station has only slightly shifted the main entrance to the left facing the road, while the stone bricks, black tiles, and architectural style still retain the original Japanese flavor, being both rustic and unique. One can still faintly sense the former authoritative atmosphere of the police station. The Jinxi Police Station is located next to the Jinxi No. 1 Bridge, with a sign indicating "Old Police Station from the Japanese Occupation Era" at the entrance of the alley, accessible by entering from the side of Jinxi No. 1 Bridge.

Jinxi Station Introduction

Pinglin is a well-known tea region in northern Taiwan, rich in natural resources. Here lies the "Jinxi Police Station," a resident station from the Japanese colonial era, which has a history of over a hundred years. It is a must-visit spot for tourists who come to enjoy fishing and looking at ferns along the Jin Guliao Stream Trail. During the Japanese occupation, a police station was established here for maintaining public order, tax collection, and monitoring dissenting citizens, and it has existed for over a century. Now transformed into a private residence, the Jinxi Police Station has slightly shifted its main entrance to the left facing the road, yet the stone bricks, black tiles, and architectural style maintain the original Japanese flavor, which is both rustic and elegant. One can still faintly sense the imposing atmosphere of the former police station.
