金溪駐在所外觀

Pinglin is a well-known tea village in northern Taiwan, which not only boasts abundant natural resources but also quietly records the cultural stories of the area through its old houses. During the Japanese colonial period, a police station was established here for security, tax collection, and to monitor resisting citizens, which has a history of over a hundred years. The former police station, now transformed into a private residence, is known as Jinxi Police Station. The main entrance was slightly shifted to the left facing the road, and the stone bricks, black tiles, and architectural style still maintain the original Japanese flavor, presenting a rustic yet elegant appearance, allowing a glimpse of the former authority of the police station. Jinxi Police Station is located next to Jinxi No. 1 Bridge, with a sign displaying "Old Police Station from the Japanese Colonial Era" erected at the entrance of the alley. You can access it by entering from the side of Jinxi No. 1 Bridge.

Jinxi Station Introduction

Pinglin is a well-known tea town in northern Taiwan, rich in natural resources. There is an old police station, the "Jinxi Station," established during the Japanese colonial period, which has a history of over a hundred years. It is a must-visit spot for tourists who come to enjoy fishing and fern viewing along the Jin gua liao Stream Trail. During the Japanese rule, the police station was set up for security, taxation, and monitoring of dissenting citizens. Now transformed into a private residence, the Jinxi Station has slightly shifted its entrance to the left while preserving the original Japanese-style features with stone bricks, black tiles, and architectural form, exuding an old-fashioned yet elegant charm, and one can still feel the authoritative atmosphere of the former police station.
