Tucheng Ammunition Depot Introduction
The Tucheng Ammunition Depot was established in 1950 and was one of the largest ammunition depots in northern Taiwan. It is located in the foothills of the Tian Shang mountain range. Due to the large stockpiles of military munitions stored there, it has long been designated as a restricted area by the military. With the development of the New Taipei metropolitan area, the originally suburban Tucheng Ammunition Depot has now gradually come close to residential areas, leading to its relocation starting in 1998 and the gradual opening of specific areas within the restricted zone. After years of military control, this area has maintained a good natural environment and is now home to the Liu Teacher Nature Classroom, the best place for urban residents to experience fruit and vegetable picking.
