Tucheng District Indigenous Peoples Ecological Park Introduction
Located on Yongning Road in Tucheng District, there is a hidden gem called "Indigenous Peoples Ecological Park." This area was once the site of the Haishan Coal Mine, which boasted rich mineral resources in the 1970s, with many Indigenous people working as miners during that time. They left their hometowns to work hard in Tucheng, bringing with them many stories of Indigenous miners. In 1993, the area was designated as an Indigenous reserve, and it was later developed into an ecological park in 2005. The park features scenic walkways, ecological ponds, as well as structures reflecting Indigenous culture such as wooden pavilions and ancestral spirit houses, all centered around the themes of Indigenous peoples and natural ecology. The park includes diverse spaces dedicated to Indigenous themes, with environmental planning focused on preserving the natural ecological landscape, providing resting areas, ecological ponds, scenic walkways, and wooden pavilions of Indigenous peoples.
