Tucheng District Indigenous Peoples Ecological Park Introduction
Located on Yongning Road in Tucheng District, there is a hidden gem called the Indigenous Peoples Ecological Park. This site was once the old location of the Haishan Coal Mine, which had abundant mineral resources in the 1970s, and many indigenous people were the main labor force for mining at that time. They left their hometowns to work hard in Tucheng, resulting in a wealth of mining stories from the indigenous miners. In 1993, it was designated as an Indigenous Reserve, and later in 2005, it was developed into an ecological park. The park features scenic pathways, ecological ponds, as well as facilities that reflect indigenous culture, such as wooden pavilions and ancestral shrines. The park is themed around indigenous culture and natural ecology, with diverse spaces related to indigenous topics. The environmental planning is primarily focused on natural ecology, preserving the natural scenery of the mountains and forests, and includes rest areas, ecological ponds, scenic pathways, and wooden pavilions.
