Tucheng District Indigenous Peoples Eco-Park Introduction
Located on Yongning Road in Tucheng District, there is a hidden gem called the Indigenous Peoples' Ecological Park. This site was formerly the location of the Haishan coal mine, which was rich in mineral resources during the 1970s, with many Indigenous peoples working as miners. They came from afar to Tucheng to earn a living, which has left behind numerous stories of Indigenous miners. In 1993, the area was designated as Indigenous reserve land, and later in 2005, it was developed into an ecological park. The park features scenic walkways, ecological ponds, and Indigenous wooden pavilions and ancestral spirit houses, all themed around Indigenous cultures and natural ecology. It boasts diverse spaces related to Indigenous topics and is designed to maintain the natural landscape of the mountains and wilderness, with resting areas, ecological ponds, scenic pathways, and wooden pavilions for Indigenous peoples.
