Zhongjiao Bay Introduction
With its bay-shaped sandy shoreline and the stunning high waves stirred up by the northeast winds throughout the seasons, Zhongjiao Bay, located at kilometer 39 of Taiwan's Highway 2, has become the most renowned surfing paradise on the northern coast. This excellent surfing spot attracts many surfers on weekends, riding the winds and waves. There are also several clubs offering board rentals and lessons, so whether you are a beginner or an advanced surfer, you can find the thrill of surfing on this beach. The Zhongjiao Bay International Surfing Base provides training centers and visitor services, making it an internationally recognized surfing destination. In addition to water activities, visitors can enjoy a distant view of one of Jinshan’s Eight Scenic Spots: the "Candleholder Islets," where the beautiful scenery of the sea meeting the sky allows one to forget the daily worries and fully immerse in the azure coast. The Candleholder Islets are representative of Jinshan and are also known as the "Couple Stones." They are located on the eastern coastline of Cape Jinshan, resembling two candlesticks standing side by side. Their formation is the result of land uplift, created by erosion-resistant coral reef columns, which is quite unique and interesting.
