Mangrove Ecological Education Center Introduction
The Mangrove Ecological Education Center is currently under construction and is temporarily closed to the public. It is a small yet beautiful ecological education center. The indoor exhibition space includes both static displays and multimedia audiovisual areas, utilizing graphics, posters, lightboxes, and multimedia to introduce the growth process of the flagship species of mangroves, the Avicennia marina (commonly known as the black mangrove), as well as the ecology of fiddler crabs, mudskippers, and waterbirds found in the mangrove forest. The center also features a viewing platform, allowing close observation of the reserve, and through excellent viewing windows, visitors can enjoy the spectacular and beautiful expanse of mangrove forests, the estuarine view of the Tamsui River, the scenic hills of Guanyin Mountain, and the imposing red Guandu Bridge. It is located right next to the Tamsui Mangrove Nature Reserve and is accessible from the second floor of the MRT Hongshulin Station, providing a chance to closely observe the mangrove ecological environment. If needed, prior reservation requests can be made to enter the outdoor ecological trails under the guidance of a docent, allowing visitors to personally experience the mangrove ecosystem and get close to waterbirds, intertidal life, and the diverse range of estuarine organisms within the Tamsui Mangrove Ecological Reserve. Here, one can marvel at one of the largest pure stands of Avicennia marina in the world.
