Shin Sheng Fa Bakery Introduction
Tamsui "Hsin Sheng Fa Bakery" is a traditional shop from Banqiao Puqian that has been around for fifty years, and this is the first branch established after five decades. It was purchased for forty million and renovated, aiming to present a purely handcrafted "Taiwanese cultural bakery," allowing tourists visiting Tamsui to enjoy the traditional flavors they remember. The first-generation founder, Du Fa, started as an apprentice at the age of thirteen and dedicated himself to the bakery industry. Initially, he sold offerings such as dough turtles and traditional Chinese pastries. Due to the quality ingredients and great texture, he gradually built a local reputation. Besides inheriting traditional flavors, he constantly experimented with new products; the "Sweet Red Bean and Pork Flaky Pastry" was conceived by Du Fa about sixteen years ago and became the signature product of "Hsin Sheng Fa." Du Su-Zhi and his sister both furthered their studies in Japan to learn baking techniques, which helped balance the sweet and sour flavors of the red bean paste and meat, while ensuring no preservatives were used, allowing the product to remain fresh for six days. After its launch, it gained immense popularity and helped establish the reputation of Hsin Sheng Fa.
