Tamsui's "Hsin Sheng Fa Bakery" is a traditional store in Banqiao Puqian that has been around for fifty years, and this is the first branch of "Hsin Sheng Fa Bakery" in its five decades of history. The four-story shop was purchased for 40 million and has been newly decorated, aiming to be a "Taiwanese Cultural Bakery" with a focus on handmade products, allowing tourists visiting Tamsui to enjoy the traditional flavors they remember. The first-generation founder, Du Fa, began his apprenticeship at the age of thirteen and committed himself to the bakery industry. Initially, he sold traditional offerings such as ritual tortoises and Chinese pastries, gradually gaining a reputation locally due to the quality of his ingredients and the excellent texture of his products. In addition to inheriting traditional flavors, the bakery constantly attempts to develop new products. The "Red Bean and Pork Flaky Pastry" was conceived by Du Fa about sixteen years ago and has become a signature product exclusive to "Hsin Sheng Fa." His siblings, Du Su-Zhi and Me-Nu, both studied in Japan to learn baking techniques, which allowed them to create a balance between the sweet and sour flavors of the red bean and pork, using a technique that ensures freshness for six days without any preservatives.
