Hemei Fishing Port is located near Sandiao Cape in the northeast corner of New Taipei City. The coastline in this area is relatively simple in its variations. Due to coastal subsidence and uneven uplift, along with the influence of the northeast monsoon, waves here cause significant wave erosion, resulting in the prevalence of sea cliffs. From Jinshan to Sandiao Cape, the geological layers are oriented perpendicularly to the coastline, showing notable signs of erosion by seawater. Softer rocks are eroded to form bays, which accumulate sand and become beaches, while harder rocks rise above the sea surface to form capes. The repeated arrangement of capes and bays creates the most varied cape-bay coastline in Taiwan.

Hemei Fishing Port Introduction

Hemei Fishing Port is located near Sandiao Cape at the northeastern corner of New Taipei City. The coastline in this area features a relatively simple variation, influenced by subsidence and uneven uplift, along with the effects of the northeast monsoon. As a result, waves create erosion, making sea cliffs a common sight. From Jinshan to Sandiao Cape, the geological strata are oriented perpendicular to the coast, significantly affected by seawater erosion. Softer rocks are eroded to form bays, which easily accumulate sand to become beaches, while harder rocks protrude above the water to create capes. The repeated arrangement of capes and bays makes this coastline the most variably structured in Taiwan.
