Hemei Fishing Port is located near Sandiao Cape in the northeastern corner of New Taipei City. The coastline in this area is relatively simple due to subsidence and uneven uplift, along with the influence of the northeast monsoon. The waves create erosion, resulting in the widespread presence of sea cliffs. From Jinshan to Sandiao Cape, the geological layers run perpendicular to the coast, showing significant signs of erosion from seawater. Softer rock is eroded to form bays, which easily accumulate sand and become beaches, while harder rock protrudes above the sea surface, forming capes. The alternating arrangement of capes and bays creates the most varied cape-bay coastline in Taiwan.

Hemei Fishing Port Introduction

Hemei Fishing Port is located near Sandiaojiao in the northeastern corner of New Taipei City. The coastline here is relatively simple in its variations. Due to the subsidence of the coast and uneven uplift, combined with the influence of the northeast monsoon, wave action has created significant coastal erosion, resulting in sea cliffs that can be seen everywhere. From Jinshan to Sandiaojiao, the geological structure runs perpendicular to the coastline, with clear signs of erosion by sea water. Softer rocks are eroded to form bays, easily accumulating sand to create beaches, while harder rocks extend above the sea surface to form capes. The repeated arrangement of capes and bays makes this coastline the most variable in Taiwan.
