Hemei Fishing Port is located near Sandiao Cape on the northeast coast of New Taipei City. The coastline here is relatively simple due to subsidence and uneven uplift, along with the influence of the northeast monsoon. This results in wave action that causes coastal erosion, making sea cliffs visible throughout the area. From Jinshan to Sandiao Cape, the geological layers are oriented perpendicular to the coastline, with obvious signs of seawater erosion. Softer rocks are eroded to form bays, which easily accumulate sand and become beaches, while harder rocks protrude above the sea, forming capes. The repeated arrangement of capes and bays creates the most diverse cape-bay coastline in Taiwan.

He Mei Fishing Harbor Introduction

Hemei Fishing Port is located near Sandiao Cape at the northeast corner of New Taipei City. The coastline here is relatively simple due to the subsidence of the coast and uneven uplift, combined with the influence of the northeast monsoon, resulting in wave erosion and the presence of sea cliffs everywhere. From Jinshan to Sandiao Cape, the geological layers are oriented perpendicular to the coastline, significantly affected by seawater erosion. Softer rocks are eroded to form bays, which easily accumulate sand to create beaches, while harder rocks emerge above the sea level to form headlands. The headlands and bays repeat in arrangement, making this the most varied cape-bay coastline in Taiwan.
