Hemei Fishing Port is located near Sandiaojiao at the northeastern tip of New Taipei City. The coastline here is relatively simple in its variations. Due to subsidence and uneven uplift of the coast, as well as the influence of the northeast monsoon, wave action has led to significant coastal erosion, resulting in sea cliffs being prevalent in the area. From Jinshan to Sandiaojiao, the geological layers are oriented perpendicular to the coastline, showing prominent signs of marine erosion. Softer rock formations have been eroded to form bays that easily accumulate sand and create beaches, while harder rock formations protrude above the sea, creating capes. The shapes of capes and bays are arranged in repetitive patterns, making it the most varied coastline of capes and bays in Taiwan.

Hemei Fishing Port Introduction

Hemei Fishing Port is located near Sandiaojiao in the northeastern corner of New Taipei City. The coastline in this area features simple variations. From Jinshan to Sandiaojiao along the coast, the geological layers intersect perpendicular to the coastline, showing clear signs of erosion by seawater. Softer rock formations are eroded to form bays that easily accumulate sand, creating beaches, while harder rock formations jut out above the sea, forming capes. The repeating arrangement of capes and bays creates one of the most varied coastal landscapes in Taiwan.
