Taichung Station Introduction
The "Taichung Metropolitan Area Elevated Railway Transformation Project" has undergone years of advocacy, planning, and construction. With the collaboration between the central and local governments, Taiwan Railways trains have been rerouted to run on elevated tracks, and the elevated stations have simultaneously opened. The elevated railway in the Taichung metropolitan area extends 21.7 kilometers, starting 1.9 kilometers north of Fengyuan station and ending 1.4 kilometers south of Daqing station. It includes the reconstruction of 5 existing stations into elevated stations, along with the addition of 5 new elevated commuter stations: Lìlín, Tóujiācù, Sōngzhú, Jīngwǔ, and Wǔquán. Among these, Daqing and Songzhu stations connect with the Taichung Metro Green Line for transfers, integrating the rail transport network and showcasing a new look for the century-old railway.
