Taichung Station Introduction
The "Taichung Metropolitan Area Railway Elevated Mass Rapid Transit Plan" has undergone years of advocacy, planning, and construction. With the cooperation of the central and local governments, Taiwan Railway trains have switched to elevated track operations, with elevated stations also coming into service. The elevated railway runs 21.7 kilometers, starting 1.9 kilometers north of Fengyuan Station and ending 1.4 kilometers south of Daqing Station. In addition to the conversion of five existing stations to elevated stations, five new elevated commuter stations are being constructed: Liling, Toujiacuo, Songzhu, Jingwu, and Wiquan. Both Daqing and Songzhu Stations will connect with the Taichung Metro Green Line, integrating the rail transport network and showcasing a new face of the century-old railway.
