Taichung Station Introduction
The "Taichung Metropolitan Area Railway Elevated Transit Project" has gone through years of lobbying, planning, and construction. With the cooperation of both the central and local governments, Taiwan Railways trains have been rerouted onto an elevated bridge, with the elevated stations being simultaneously activated. The railway runs 21.7 kilometers from 1.9 kilometers north of Fengyuan Station to 1.4 kilometers south of Daqing Station. It includes the renovation of five existing stations into elevated stations and the addition of five new elevated commuter stations: Lìlín, Tóujiācuò, Sōngzhú, Jīngwǔ, and Wǔquán. Among them, Daqing and Songzhu stations allow for transfers with the Taichung Metro Green Line, integrating the rail transportation network and showcasing a new look for the century-old railway.
