Taichung Station Introduction
The "Taichung Metropolitan Area Railway Elevated Transit Project" has undergone years of advocacy, planning, and construction. With the cooperation of both central and local governments, Taiwan Railways trains have been rerouted onto elevated bridges, and elevated stations have begun operation. The railway stretches 21.7 kilometers, starting 1.9 kilometers north of Fengyuan Station and ending 1.4 kilometers south of Daqing Station. This project includes the reconstruction of five existing stations into elevated stations and the addition of five new elevated commuter stations: Liling, Toujiacuo, Songzhu, Jingwu, and Wujuan. Notably, Daqing and Songzhu Stations share transfer connections with the Taichung Metro Green Line, integrating the rail transport network and presenting a new look for the century-old railway.
