Taichung Railway Station Introduction
The "Taichung Metropolitan Area Railway Elevated Mass Rapid Transit Project" has undergone years of advocacy, planning, and construction. With cooperation between the central and local governments, Taiwan Railways trains now operate on elevated bridges, with elevated stations concurrently activated. The railway extends 21.7 kilometers in the Taichung metropolitan area, starting 1.9 kilometers north of Fengyuan Station and ending 1.4 kilometers south of Daqing Station. In addition to the renovation of 5 existing stations into elevated stations, 5 new elevated commuter stations have been added: Liyin, Toujiaozu, Songzhu, Jingwu, and Wuqian. Among these, Daqing and Songzhu Station serve as transfer points to the Taichung Metro Green Line, integrating the rail transport network and showcasing a new look for the century-old railway.
