Taichung Station Introduction
The "Taichung Metropolitan Area Railway Elevated MRT Project" has undergone years of efforts, planning, and construction. With cooperation from both the central and local governments, Taiwan Railway trains are now running on an elevated bridge, with the elevated stations being simultaneously opened. The elevated railway in the Taichung metropolitan area stretches 21.7 kilometers, starting 1.9 kilometers north of Fengyuan Station and ending 1.4 kilometers south of Daqing Station. In addition to reconstructing the existing 5 stations as elevated stations, 5 new elevated commuter stations—Lilin, Toujiazhu, Songzhu, Jingwu, and Wuqun—have been built. Daqing and Songzhu stations are connected to the Taichung MRT Green Line, integrating the rail transport network and showcasing a new look for the century-old railway.
