Dakeng No. 9 Trail and No. 9-1 Trail Introduction
Dakeng Scenic Area - Hiking Trail Guide Dakeng Scenic Area is an important leisure spot for the residents of Taichung City, a place for hikers to enjoy nature and fitness, and a popular tourist attraction in central Taiwan. It is common to see enthusiasts walking together or families enjoying the area, making it a shared backyard for the citizens of Taichung. The most distinctive features of this area are the 14 hiking trails. Trails No. 1 to 8 were opened in the early 1980s, built according to the natural terrain of Dakeng Mountain and streams, with the highest point being Touji Mountain at 859 meters. Trail No. 9 was developed in December 2005, Trail No. 10 was completed in March 2008, and Trail No. 9-1 was finished in November 2013. Trail No. 9 is approximately 1.6 kilometers long, suitable for families to walk together. The trailhead is located directly across from the Kangbu Parking Lot, following Jingbu Road to Jiu Jiu Bridge. Features: This trail is filled with greenery, and the environment is quite serene with broad views, allowing a distant gaze at the urban landscape of the 11th district redevelopment area. There are also remnants of an ammunition depot from the Japanese colonial era and the Dali Creek, with the intersection being the 921 Earthquake Park. Trail No. 9-1 is approximately 0.6 kilometers long and also suitable for families. The trailhead can be accessed by going straight through Jingbu Road, past Jiu Jiu Bridge. Features: Along the way to the trailhead, there is a farmers' market where hikers can purchase local agricultural products from the Dakeng area.
