Dakeng Scenic Bridge Introduction
In the Beitun District of Taichung, there are various culturally themed scenic bridges including the New Peach Blossom Source Bridge, Romantic Lover’s Bridge, Dakeng Fresh Bridge, Blue Sky and White Cloud Bridge, and Haitian Bridge. These bridges connect Road No. 4, facilitating convenient access to the Beitun District, Dakeng District, and Taiping District for residents. Each scenic bridge features unique designs, radiating distinct charm both day and night. It’s a popular spot for people to take photos and relax, with relatively few vehicles and an open area that becomes suitable for evening bicycle rides, allowing one to enjoy the tranquil riverside scenery while admiring the increasingly beautiful bridges as night falls. The New Peach Blossom Source Bridge, the first built among the Dakeng Scenic Bridge group, is also the largest. It has a white culvert-style appearance with pedestrian walkways on both sides, making it easy for people to stroll and enjoy the scenery. Notably, the maple leaf decorations along the walkway are a distinctive feature of the Dakeng area. Romantic Lover’s Bridge, which resembles a harp from the side, is constructed with a slanted arch of steel pipes in a pink hue, featuring a glass walkway unique to pedestrians. The Blue Sky and White Cloud Bridge, with its elegant classical design in blue and white, takes the shape of a celestial altar and echoes the blue sky and white clouds above. As night falls, the bridge is lit up, shining splendidly and creating an enchanting entrance to a fantastical realm. The Dakeng Fresh Bridge, designed in the shape of a fountain-like rib, symbolizes the lush forest surroundings of the Dakeng area. Its unique arched and symmetrical design resembles a butterfly in flight, hence it is also referred to as the "Butterfly Bridge." Under the dazzling night lights, the entire bridge becomes a spectacular light and water dance show, with its green arched steel beams resembling spouting water, complemented by bright blue lights at the ends of the beams, presenting a vibrant and dynamic beauty, attracting many photography enthusiasts for memorable shots. The group of scenic bridges is close to the Xindu Ecological Park and Dakeng Scenic Area, making it ideal to plan a morning visit to both sites, followed by an evening stroll on the scenic bridges to enjoy the starry night, thus spending a wonderfully romantic day. The Haitan Bridge is a beautiful white bridge resembling mountain shapes, extending from Songzhu 5th Road across the Dry Creek East and West Roads, symbolizing the meaning of "the sea and sky in a line, hearts and hands connected."
