The characteristic of Trail No. 8 is a stable incline. The first half of the trail is an industrial road, while the middle section is a Acacia boardwalk. Except for a slight steep area near the Wind Moving Rock, the rest of the trail is like flat ground for walking. Most visitors hike from Trail No. 6 to the Wind Moving Rock, then return down this trail from the Wind Moving Rock to the trailhead. It takes about 40 minutes to return to the trailhead from the Wind Moving Rock, and then it takes about 20 minutes to walk back to the parking lot of Trail No. 6 from the trailhead.

Dakeng No. 8 Trail Introduction

Dakeng Scenic Area – Hiking Trail Guide Dakeng Scenic Area is an important leisure place for Taichung citizens to find peace of mind, as well as a popular destination for hikers to explore and exercise. It has become a shared backyard for Taichung residents, where friends and families can be seen enjoying their time together on regular days or holidays. The most distinctive feature of this area is its 14 hiking trails. Trails No. 1 to 8 were established in the early 1980s, built according to the natural terrain where Dakeng Mountain and streams intertwine, with the highest elevation reaching 859 meters at Touzishan. Trail No. 9 was opened in December 2005, Trail No. 10 was completed in March 2008, and Trail 9-1 was finished in November 2013. Trail No. 8 is approximately 0.95 kilometers long, suitable for people of all ages and families. Trailhead: The original entrance is not very conspicuous; visitors can access it by entering an industrial road for about 800 meters from Jiancheng Lane. Features: This trail is lined with orchards, enticing hikers to pause and admire. The endpoint is Fengdong Stone Park, which has several pavilions providing a wonderful resting place for the public. Transportation Methods:Taichung Bus (Taichung Train Station 04-22224102): Route 15, Route 16 (Board at Luchuan East Station) can reach Chung Tai University; also at the intersection of Dongshan Road and Songzhu Road, you can take Taichung Bus Route 66 (Route 66 circles in Dakeng). 2. Renyou Bus (04-22255166): Route 1, Route 20, Route 21, Route 31 (Board at Luchuan East Station, recommend taking Renyou due to more frequent service). 3. Fengyuan Bus (Taichung North Station 04-22223435): Buses heading towards Zhongxingling, Xinshe, Dongshi, etc.


Remarks:1. It is recommended that elderly individuals and those with hypertension avoid climbing trails No. 1 to 5 and No. 5-1 in Dakeng. 2. Trail No. 4 in Dakeng has a significant elevation change, with a 300-meter vertical steep slope. 3. Generally, trails No. 6, 7, 8, 9, and 9-1 in Dakeng are more suitable for both men and women.
