Dakeng No. 8 Trail Introduction
Dakeng Scenic Area – Hiking Trail Guide Dakeng Scenic Area is an important leisure place for Taichung citizens to find peace of mind, as well as a popular destination for hikers to explore and exercise. It has become a shared backyard for Taichung residents, where friends and families can be seen enjoying their time together on regular days or holidays. The most distinctive feature of this area is its 14 hiking trails. Trails No. 1 to 8 were established in the early 1980s, built according to the natural terrain where Dakeng Mountain and streams intertwine, with the highest elevation reaching 859 meters at Touzishan. Trail No. 9 was opened in December 2005, Trail No. 10 was completed in March 2008, and Trail 9-1 was finished in November 2013. Trail No. 8 is approximately 0.95 kilometers long, suitable for people of all ages and families. Trailhead: The original entrance is not very conspicuous; visitors can access it by entering an industrial road for about 800 meters from Jiancheng Lane. Features: This trail is lined with orchards, enticing hikers to pause and admire. The endpoint is Fengdong Stone Park, which has several pavilions providing a wonderful resting place for the public.
