Dakeng No. 8 Trail Introduction
Dagang Scenic Area is an important leisure place for the residents of Taichung City, serving as a space for mental relaxation and a popular destination for hikers and fitness enthusiasts. It is a favorite tourist attraction in central Taiwan, where one can frequently see families and groups of friends enjoying the scenery together, making it a shared backyard for the citizens of Taichung. The most distinctive feature of the area is the 13 hiking trails. Trails 1 to 8 were established in early 1981, constructed based on the natural topography where Dagang Mountain and streams intertwine, with the highest elevation reaching 859 meters at the summit of Touke Mountain. Trail 9 was opened in December 2005, Trail 10 was completed in March 2008, and Trail 9-1 was finished in November 2013. Trail 8 is approximately 0.95 kilometers long, suitable for people of all ages, making it an ideal choice for family outings. The trail entrance is not very conspicuous, and it can be accessed via an industrial road approximately 800 meters into Jiancheng Lane. Features: Along this trail, orchards are plentiful, enticing hikers to stop and enjoy the views. The endpoint leads to Wind-moving Stone Park, which has several pavilions, providing the public a wonderful place to rest.
