金門橋

Jinmen Bridge, located in Dongshi Township, originally had a gently flowing waterway separating the two banks, requiring residents to wade across for interaction. To ensure the safety of the elderly, women, and children, a bridge was constructed in the 15th year of the Showa era (1940). However, due to the outbreak of the Pacific War at that time, all cement was requisitioned, forcing local people to use glutinous rice, lime, and brown sugar as binding materials, resulting in a flexible structure that sustained no damage even during the 921 earthquake. The unique construction method and design hold significant preservation value, especially regarding the safety of local residents.
