Pear Village Leisure Agricultural Area Introduction
The Pear Village Leisure Agricultural Zone has been awarded the Excellence Award and Model Award in the Leisure Agricultural Zone Evaluation in 2018 and 2021, respectively. It integrates soft and hard planning, including guided tours of the Pear Culture Museum, open fruit picking for tourists, production of coffee and orchids, hiking trails, special scenic spots, natural forest ecosystems, and arts and crafts such as pottery, wood carving, and lacquer art. The area is dotted with orchards, lush and vibrant, where farmers work amidst the beautiful landscape. Along the way, the bald cypress trees along the roadside showcase colorful hues in autumn, while the towering five-needle pines stand strong. Every turn presents new vistas and surprises. At the summit, one might discover sea clouds, mist, or the glow of sunset depending on the season and weather. Each season offers different beautiful sights! Due to the steep terrain and rich forest ecology, one can find various species such as five-needle pines, bald cypress, beech, fragrant maple, cherry blossoms, and tung trees. As autumn approaches, the mountain quietly dresses in vibrant colors, making it a stunning sight. The Pear Village Leisure Agricultural Zone is a place to cleanse the soul and relax the mind, where one can gaze at the starry sky at night and enjoy the sounds of nature with the chirps of insects and birds. It provides a wonderful opportunity to experience life in nature. Everyone is welcome to enjoy a slow-paced life of slow food, slow living, and slow travel.
The program has a rich ecological environment and operates in an environmentally friendly manner. In recent years, there has been active restoration of fireflies, and the firefly viewing activities, which begin in April and are combined with local Hakka cuisine—The Earth Table’s agricultural tour package—have become one of the annual major events in the Pear Village Leisure Agricultural Zone.
During the period, visitors can make an appointment with the farmers to personally experience the process of grafting pear buds and bagging plants in the orchard while appreciating the beautiful and simple rural environment. Visitors can enjoy the freshest flavor of freshly picked fruits and take home wonderful travel memories.
Themed activities include firefly watching in Pear Village, beetle ecology, guided tours of high-grafted pear culture, orchids in potted combinations, pottery DIY, lacquer art DIY, pear tree adoption, Pear Fruit Bus, Aniste landscape art arrangement experience and agricultural fun activities, and picnics.
Crops produced include high-grafted pears, orchids, sweet persimmons, citrus fruits, dragon fruit, coffee, various bamboo shoots, plums, peaches, and more.
Attraction points in the leisure area include the Mist Path, five-needle pine forest, bald cypress forest, and the Beech deity land.
