Pear Village Leisure Agricultural Area Introduction
Lichi Township Leisure Agricultural Area has been awarded the Excellence Award and Model Award in the leisure agricultural area evaluation for the years 2018 and 2021. The area integrates soft and hard planning, which includes the Lichi Cultural Museum guided tours, open tourism fruit picking, coffee and orchid production, hiking paths, unique landscapes, natural forest ecology, pottery, wood carving, and lacquer art projects. The orchards are abundant and lush, with farmers busily working among the trees, creating a beautiful scenery. Along the way, the cypress trees by the roadside show vibrant colors in autumn, while the towering five-needle pines stand firm and green. At every turn, new vistas and surprises await. Upon reaching the peak, depending on the season and weather, one may discover a sea of clouds, mist enveloping the area, or the glow of the setting sun. Each season presents a different beautiful spectacle! Due to the steep terrain, the forest composition is very rich, featuring five-needle pines, cypress, beech, sweet gum, cherry blossom, and tung trees. In autumn, the entire mountain quietly dons a coat of vibrant colors, a sight to behold. Lichi Township Leisure Agricultural Area is a place where one can cleanse the soul and relax, enjoy stargazing at night, listen to the sounds of insects and birds, and immerse in the experience of nature. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the slow food, slow living, and slow traveling lifestyle. The “Firefly Love in Lichi” event is held in this area, which has a rich ecological environment managed in an eco-friendly manner. In recent years, efforts have been made to revive fireflies, and the firefly watching activities, starting in April each year, combine local Hakka cuisine - the Earth Table agricultural tour package, becoming one of the annual grand events in Lichi Township Leisure Agricultural Area. During the "Adopt a Pear Tree" period, visitors can make prior arrangements with farmers to personally experience the process from grafting pear buds to bagging cultivation, enjoying the beautiful and simple scenery of nature, and tasting the freshest fruits harvested directly from the farm, taking home beautiful travel memories. Theme activities include firefly watching in Lichi, dung beetle ecology, high-grafting pear cultural tours, potting national orchids, pottery DIY, lacquer art experience DIY, pear tree adoption, pear fruit bus, Anis Landscape Art Installation Experience farm activities, and picnics.
