The former Dongshih High School campus covers an area of approximately 8 hectares. Through the efforts of the city government team, the original activity center, auditorium, and architectural teaching building have been transformed into the "Taichung Hakka Leisure Park," which occupies about 0.9 hectares. Within the park, there are the "Leisure Sports Hall" and the "Leisure Learning Hall." The remaining space, including the mountain trail and sports field totaling about 7 hectares, has been organized into the "Taichung Mountain City Leisure Park," creating a leisure area for local residents to relax, exercise, learn, and engage in activities. Citizens are welcome to come for walks and exercise, which contributes to their health.

Taichung Hakka Cultural Park Introduction

Taichung Hakka Eco-Park is focused on showcasing the unique Hakka culture of Taichung Dapu, providing social education, and offering experiences of the lives of Hakka ancestors. It features Hakka language, culture, traditional crafts, recreational activities, and gathering spaces. The park is landscaped with commonly used Hakka plants and craft techniques, creating an enjoyable environment for public participation in Hakka-related education, arts, cultural creation, and gatherings, fully promoting the inheritance of Hakka culture and revitalizing the use of this space. The first floor of the Eco-Park Learning Center houses the "Agricultural Promotion Learning Center" established by the Agriculture Bureau, offering training, workshops, and practical courses for agricultural promotion and experiential activities. The second floor is home to the "Mountain Town Revitalization Learning Education Center" set up by the Education Bureau, integrating educational resources from the mountain town for research and development. The third and fourth floors host the "Mountain Town Hakka Culture Center," promoting the Hakka language, preserving Hakka culture, and passing on and developing Hakka affairs in the mountain town. Additionally, the Eco-Sports Center serves as an important base for training outstanding competitive athletes or hosting sporting events.
