Liuyishan Trail Introduction

Liouyi Mountain has an elevation of approximately 784 meters and is part of the Ali Mountain Range’s Wus山 System. It serves as the boundary between Jiasian in Kaohsiung and South District in Tainan. During the Japanese occupation period, it became a popular hiking route. The trail is developed along the ridge and is designed to resemble the ancient paths from the Japanese era. It features a nature-based ecological design with wooden-patterned plank surfaces, extending approximately 4.35 kilometers. There are four mountain entrances from north to south: Sede, Gongguan, Baiye, and Zixia entrances, with a one-way hike taking about 3 hours. The trail boasts a variety of tree species, with different flowering plants each season. In winter, the sight and fragrance of blooming plum trees are particularly enchanting. The views to the west, east, and south allow for vistas of the Nanhua Reservoir, the Central Mountain Range, and the Ali Mountain Wus山 System, making it an ideal spot for sunset viewing. Along the way, there are observation platforms for lakes, plum blossoms, a Liouyi Mountain memorial triangle point, a viewing platform at the Yako, and the Observation Pavilion, all recognized as a national-level healthy walking trail by the Forestry Bureau.
