The remnants of the Qing Dynasty Fengshan County City located in Fengshan District are known as the New City to distinguish them from the old city area of Zuoying in Kaohsiung City. Among the ruins of the New City, the only well-preserved original city gate is the Dongbianmen, along with the Dongf bridge that crosses the Fengshan River.
