The remnants of the Qing Dynasty Fengshan County City within Fengshan District serve to distinguish it from the old city of Zuoying in Kaohsiung City. The county city is referred to as the "New City." Among the remains of the New City, the only preserved original city gate is the East Gate, along with the Dongfu Bridge which spans Fengshan River.
