The remnants of the Qing Dynasty Fengshan County City located in Fengshan District serve to distinguish it from the old town of Zuoying in Kaohsiung City. Fengshan County City is referred to as "New City." Among the ruins of New City, the only preserved city gate in its original form is the Dongbian Gate, along with the Dongfu Bridge spanning the Fengshan River.
