Da Dong Cultural and Arts Center Introduction
Opened in 2012, the Dadong Cultural and Arts Center is located at the intersection of Guangyuan Road and Dadong Road. This multifunctional arts venue was established in response to the future development of refined culture in Kaohsiung City. The center's architectural design embodies the minimalist aesthetics of fair-faced concrete, with a membrane-like translucent canopy that appears to float above the semi-open plaza like a hot air balloon, bringing beauty in light, airflow, and visual curvature. At night, it is adorned with a fountain of lights, creating a dazzling spectacle that serves as the most beautiful focal point of the Dadong Cultural and Arts Center. The center features a multifunctional performance hall with composite capabilities, a visual exhibition hall designed for cultural and creative commercial spaces, and a multimedia library dedicated to the collection of audiovisual art and books. Its diverse and exquisite exhibitions and performances are a treasure trove for people seeking artistic nourishment. The outdoor plaza, integrated with nature, offers melodious music and dance performances, lush green hills, and elegant installation art, making it a sought-after leisure destination for the public. Connected by the Kaohsiung Metro, the Dadong Cultural and Arts Center, Weiwuying Center for the Arts, and Kaohsiung Cultural Center will form a complete urban arts corridor, constructing a shining stage for cultural and artistic activities in southern Taiwan.
