Dadong Arts and Cultural Center Introduction
The Dadong Arts Center, which was inaugurated in 2012, is located at the intersection of Guangyuan Road and Dadong Road. It is a multifunctional arts venue established in response to the future development of refined culture in Kaohsiung City. The architecture of the arts center embodies the minimalist aesthetics of fair-faced concrete, while the membrane-like, semi-transparent canopy appears to float above the semi-open plaza like a hot air balloon, providing beauty in light, airflow, and visual curves. At night, illuminated by a light fountain, it becomes a dazzling focal point, showcasing the most beautiful aspects of the Dadong Arts Center. The center features a multifunctional auditorium with composite functions, a visual exhibition hall for planning cultural and creative commercial spaces, and a multimedia library dedicated to collecting audio-visual art and books. The rich and diverse exhibitions and performances serve as a treasure trove for the public to draw artistic inspiration, while the naturally integrated outdoor plaza, with its melodious music and dance performances, lush green hills, and beautiful installation art, serves as a favored leisure spot for the public. Connected by the Kaohsiung Metro, the Dadong Arts Center, Weiwuying Center for the Arts, and Kaohsiung Cultural Center will form a complete urban arts belt, creating a shining stage for the arts and culture in southern Taiwan.
