Dadong Arts and Cultural Center Introduction
The Dadong Arts Center, which was inaugurated in 2012, is located at the intersection of Guangyuan Road and Dadong Road. It is a multifunctional arts venue established to accommodate the future cultural development of Kaohsiung City. The architecture of the arts center embodies the minimalist aesthetic of fair-faced concrete, and the membrane-like semi-transparent roof seems to float like a hot air balloon above the semi-open plaza, providing beauty in light, airflow, and visual curves. At night, it is adorned with a light fountain, becoming a dazzling focal point of the Dadong Arts Center. The center features a multifunctional performing arts hall, a visual exhibition hall designed for cultural and creative commercial space, and a multimedia library dedicated to the collection of audiovisual and literary arts. The diverse and refined exhibitions and performances serve as a treasure trove for the public to draw spiritual nourishment from the arts. The outdoor plaza, combined with nature, often hosts melodious music and dance performances, along with lush green hills and beautiful installation art, making it a popular leisure destination. Connected by the Kaohsiung MRT, the Dadong Arts Center, Weiwuying Center for the Arts, and the Kaohsiung Cultural Center will form a complete urban arts corridor, creating a brilliant stage for the arts in southern Taiwan.
