Dadong Arts and Cultural Center Introduction
The Daito Cultural and Arts Center, inaugurated in 2012, is located at the intersection of Guangyuan Road and Daito Road. It is a multifunctional artistic venue established in response to the future refined cultural development in Kaohsiung City. The architectural design of the arts center embodies the minimalist aesthetic of 清水建築 (Bare Concrete Architecture), with a membrane semi-translucent roof suspended above the semi-open plaza, resembling a hot air balloon. This design provides lighting, airflow, and a beautiful visual curvature. At night, illuminated by a fountain, it becomes the most stunning focal point of the Daito Cultural and Arts Center. The arts center features a multifunctional performance hall, a visual exhibition hall planned for cultural and creative commercial spaces, and a multimedia library dedicated to collecting audiovisual and literary art. Its diverse and exquisite exhibitions and performances serve as a treasure trove for the public to gather artistic inspiration. The outdoor plaza, combined with nature, also hosts melodious music and dance performances. Its lush green hills and beautiful installation art make it an appealing recreational location for visitors. Through the Kaohsiung MRT, the Daito Cultural and Arts Center, Weiwuying Arts Center, and Kaohsiung Cultural Center will form a complete urban art belt, creating a brilliant stage for arts and culture in southern Taiwan.
