Dadong Art and Culture Center Introduction
The Dayong Cultural and Arts Center, which was inaugurated in 2012, is located at the intersection of Guangyuan Road and Dazhong Road. It is a multifunctional art space established in response to the future development of refined culture in Kaohsiung City. The architecture of the art center embodies the minimalist aesthetics of fair-faced concrete, with a membrane-like translucent canopy hovering like a hot air balloon over the semi-open plaza, bringing beauty in light, air flow, and visual curvature. At night, it becomes a dazzling focal point, adorned with a light fountain in vibrant colors. The art center features a multifunctional performance hall, a visual exhibition hall designed for cultural and creative commercial spaces, and a multimedia library dedicated to collecting audiovisual and literary art materials. It serves as a treasure trove of diverse and exquisite exhibitions and performances for the public to draw artistic nourishment. The outdoor plaza, integrated with nature, often features melodious music and dance performances, alongside lush green hills and beautiful installation art, making it a favored leisure spot for the public. Connected by the Kaohsiung MRT, the Dayong Cultural and Arts Center, Weiwuying Center for the Arts, and Kaohsiung Cultural Center will form a complete metropolitan art belt, creating a shining stage for arts and culture in southern Taiwan.
