Taiwan Craft Home - Qiaoxin Three-Dimensional Embroidery Introduction
Craftsman: Hsu Chen-Chun "Embroidery" is a refined craft deeply infused with Eastern cultural essence, and in traditional Chinese culture, embroidery is regarded as an essential skill for women. Teacher Hsu Chen-Chun has been creating for over sixty years, having learned many traditional crafts under his father's guidance from a young age. Fascinated by embroidery, he mastered various techniques such as flower embroidery, the three-inch golden lotus stitch, and winding spring flowers, and developed the "three-dimensional embroidery" technique independently. This transformed traditional flat embroidery into vibrant, three-dimensional works of life and became a new form of handicraft teaching and fine industry. Whether it is the flat embroidery he excelled in from childhood or the three-dimensional embroidery he created himself, both are unique and full of creativity, earning him the title of "the first embroiderer of Lugang." Here, visitors can see traditional items such as "dundang" worn by ancient beauties at nationwide folk talent events, the vivid sleep assistant "tiger pillow," and various "fragrance pouches" used during the Dragon Boat Festival, all filled with a nostalgic charm and a modern touch, making it truly worthwhile to visit and appreciate.
