Zhongyi Temple Introduction
The Zhongyi Temple, located in Beitou, Lugang, was first established in 1790 during the 55th year of the Qianlong reign in the Qing Dynasty, when it was initially worshiped through a rotating system of incense holders at private homes. Later, in the third year of the Daoguang reign, in 1823, a temple was built for worship. The exterior of Zhongyi Temple is splendidly ornate, with the walls on both sides adorned with marble inscriptions of poems from renowned calligraphers and poets from the Lugang area. It also features intricately crafted wooden altars and a plaque reading "Yiyong Jingzhong" (義勇精忠). The temple is decorated with a variety of vibrant colors, creating a truly magnificent sight.
