Zhongyi Temple Introduction
The Zhongyi Temple in Beitou, Lugang, was established in the 55th year of the Qianlong reign (1790) after being transferred from Quanzhou, China. Initially, the temple followed a system of rotating custodians from local households to worship at the shrine, and it was later built as a temple in the 3rd year of the Daoguang reign (1823). The temple's exterior is magnificent, with marble walls inscribed with verses from famous local calligraphers and poets, and it features intricately crafted wooden altars along with the plaque "Yiyong Jingzhong". The overall decoration of the temple employs many vibrant colors, making it quite ornate.
