Dongjia Beiji Temple (Qiming) in Magong Introduction
Main Deity: Zhenwu the Great Emperor Festival Date: Lunar March 3rd One of the three major temples in Magong City, Penghu, it was established during the Qing Dynasty and primarily enshrines Zhenwu the Great Emperor. After its recovery, it also enshrines Wang Ye of the Judicial Yuan, serving as a secondary deity within the temple, along with the Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva enshrined on the right side of the altar for worship by devotees. The North Pole Hall is rich in traditional Chinese architectural art, featuring exquisite and vivid carvings and calligraphy on the painted pillars, as well as intricate depictions of figures, birds, beasts, brackets, slanted beams, and pavilions. It has been registered as a historical building by the county government.
