Dongjia Beiji Temple (Qiming) Introduction
Main Deity: Zhenwu Emperor Festival Date: March 3rd of the Lunar Calendar Located in Magong City, Penghu, it is one of the three major temples in the region, established during the Qing Dynasty. The primary deity worshipped is the Zhenwu Emperor, and after the restoration, it also worships Wang Ye of the Duzhayuan. In the temple, he is seated as a vice-deity, while the Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva is worshipped on the right side of the altar, allowing devotees to offer their respects. The Beijidian is filled with traditional Chinese architectural art, featuring exquisite and lively depictions of figures, birds, and beasts in the colorful paintings, calligraphy on the gilded pillars, as well as the intricately carved dougong, curved beams, and jingzi pavilions, all of which are invaluable. The county government has registered it as a historic building.
