Taipei Exploratorium Introduction
As a Taipei resident, do you know about Taipei? Welcome to the Taipei Exploratorium, where you can learn about various aspects of Taipei. The Taipei Exploratorium has four floors: the first floor is the Taipei Impression Hall, which presents the impressions of Taipei through images and videos; the second floor is the Special Exhibition Hall, which regularly hosts related exhibitions; the third floor is the Urban Exploration Hall, showcasing the history of Taipei streets such as Ketagalan Boulevard, Zhongshan North Road, Dunhua South and North Roads, and Zhongxiao East Road, as well as the changes in Ximending and Xinyi District; the fourth floor is the Time-Space Dialogue Hall, featuring interactive installations, replica ancient city wall foundations, images, artifacts, and models, providing insights into the histories of places like Manka, Dadaocheng, Taipei City, and the Tamsui River. The first floor Taipei Impression Hall has a minimalist style that instantly evokes the cultural essence of Greater Taipei. The main wall broadcasts multi-layered media images and floor projections, showcasing the smiles and frowns of Taipei. Although not large, the second floor Special Exhibition Hall is "small yet complete," regularly holding special exhibitions relevant to issues of concern from city government departments or the public. The third floor Urban Exploration Hall is a place that unleashes imagination, allowing the audience to trace the trajectory of Taipei’s development through the changes of its streets. The fourth floor Time-Space Dialogue Hall represents urban development and historical evolution, akin to boarding a time machine back to old Taipei, experiencing the contrast between past and present as well as the shifts in time and space. The theater features a 360-degree large screen, screening four films titled "City Identity," "City Life," "City Charm," and "Great Times in Taipei," presenting various stories and reflections about Taipei City, suitable for people of all ages to explore. Visitors can also check out the virtual reality experience of the exhibition hall online before visiting the Taipei Exploratorium!
