The Bureau of Investigation and Statistics - North Branch (Former Site) Introduction

The original site was the "Takasago Iron Works" (Takasago Casting Co., Ltd.) invested by the Koo family of Lugang in 1917 during the Japanese colonial period. Afterwards, Koo Hsien-jung's daughter-in-law, Koo Yan-bi-hsia (wife of Koo Yue-fu), was responsible for the factory's operations. After the war, the Nationalist government took over, and the factory was forcibly closed due to Koo Yan-bi-hsia's involvement in a case related to bandits. It was later used by the Ministry of National Defense's Bureau of Secret Intelligence, serving as a key location for the interrogation of political prisoners during the early period of White Terror in the 1950s.
