Toad Mountain Huánmín New Village Introduction
The Cichlids Mountain Huanmin New Village, located at the southern end of the Taipei Basin next to the National Taiwan University Gongguan Business District, is the only complete Air Force Veteran Village remaining in Taipei City. The community has a rich cultural preservation consciousness and serves as an excellent venue for practicing "presenting historical aspects through community participation." With its unique spatial qualities in ecology, community development, education, and architecture, Huanmin New Village revisits stories from the Veteran Village era, preserves neighborhood mutual assistance functions, and incorporates natural resources to develop environmental learning paths. Huanmin New Village is set to become a sustainable mountain city veteran village, serving as the best model for veteran villages in Taipei's mountainous areas while enriching the cultural connotations and local memories of the southern urban area.
