Toad Mountain Huannmin New Village Introduction
The Toad Mountain Huanmin Village, located at the southern end of the Taipei Basin next to the NTU Gongguan shopping district, is the only fully preserved Air Force dependent village in Taipei City. The community has a rich awareness of cultural preservation and serves as an ideal venue for showcasing history in a community-oriented manner. With its unique spatial qualities in ecology, social development, education, and architecture, Huanmin Village reflects on the stories of the dependent village era, preserves neighborhood mutual assistance functions, and integrates natural resources to create environmental learning pathways. Huanmin Village will develop into a sustainable mountain town dependent village, becoming an exemplary model of mountain town dependent villages in Taipei, enriching the cultural connotations and local memories of the southern city area.
