Toad Mountain Huanmin New Village Introduction
The Settlement Nurtured by Water - Huanmin New Village of Cien Toad Mountain is located at the southern end of the Taipei Basin, next to the National Taiwan University Gongguan Shopping District. Built along the mountain, Huanmin New Village is the only complete military dependents' village currently preserved in Taipei City. The community has a rich awareness of cultural preservation and serves as an ideal venue for "presenting historical aspects through a community approach." With its unique spatial qualities related to ecology, community development, education, and architecture, Huanmin New Village carries on stories from the military dependents' village era, maintains neighborhood mutual assistance functions, and incorporates natural resources to develop environmental learning paths.
