Toad Mountain Huamin New Village Introduction
The Village of Huanmin is located at the southern end of the Taipei Basin, next to the NTU Gongguan shopping district. Built along the mountains, Huanmin Village is currently the only intact military dependents' village preserved in Taipei City. The community has a rich awareness of cultural preservation, making it the best venue to practice "presenting historical aspects through a community approach." In terms of special spatial qualities related to ecology, community building, education, and architecture, Huanmin Village reflects on stories from the era of military dependents, maintains neighborly mutual assistance, and integrates natural resources to develop environmental learning pathways. It aims to transform into a sustainable mountain town military dependents' village and serve as an exemplary model for military dependents' villages in Taipei, enriching the cultural connotation and local memory of the Southern City area.
