Water Measuring Chamber Introduction
The Water Measurement Room is a square building made of brick and reinforced concrete, used for measuring the outflow of the small Guanyin Mountain reservoir. The original construction date and design are unknown due to lost documents; however, research of property registration records indicates that the building was likely completed in March 1913 (the 2nd year of the Republic of China) and was decommissioned after the completion of the Gongguan Water Purification Plant in 1977. The building is excavated downward to meet functional needs, featuring decorative grooves and incised lines on its surface, with exposed red brick at the corners. The windows and window frames of the Water Measurement Room have a semi-circular arch shape at the top and a square shape at the bottom. This building is estimated to have been added after the main engineering of the Taipei Waterway was completed but still shows a comprehensive planning and design in relation to associated architectural facilities.
