Liang Shui Room Introduction

The Flow Measurement Room is a rectangular building made of brick and reinforced concrete, designed for measuring the outflow from the small Guanyin Mountain reservoir. The original construction date and design details are unknown due to lost documentation; however, property registration records suggest that the Flow Measurement Room was completed in March 1913 (the 2nd year of the Republic of China). It became obsolete after the completion of the Gongguan Water Purification Plant in 1977. The building was excavated downward to meet its functional requirements, featuring surface grooves and decorative lines, with exposed red bricks at the corners. The windows and window frames of the Flow Measurement Room are designed with a semi-circular arch shape on the upper part and a rectangular shape on the lower part. This building is believed to have been constructed after the completion of the main Taipei Waterway project, yet it still shows an overall planning design in relation to neighboring facilities.
