Underground Water Palace - Guanyin Mountain Reservoir Introduction
The Guanyin Mountain Water Reservoir is one of the officially designated historical buildings in Taipei Waterway's source area. It is a reservoir with over a hundred years of history, designed to store clean water that has been purified and is safe for drinking. This facility ceased operations after the completion of a new water purification plant in 1977. However, it was reopened to the public in 2019 during the pandemic period to promote domestic tourism, becoming a new hidden gem in Taipei. Due to the unique architectural features, the reservoir is also known as the "Underground Water Palace." We invite you to explore this century-old historical site and discover its beauty.
