Underground Water Palace - Guanyin Mountain Reservoir Introduction
The Guanyin Mountain Reservoir is one of the designated historic buildings of the "Taipei Waterway Water Source" and has a history of over a century. Its function is to store purified drinking water. This facility was retired after the completion of the modern water purification plant in the 66th year of the Republic of China (1977). It was reopened in 2019 to boost domestic tourism during the pandemic and has since become a new hidden gem in Taipei. Due to its unique architectural features, the reservoir is also known as the "Underground Water Palace." We invite you to explore this century-old historic site and discover its charm.
