Underground Water Palace - Guanyin Mountain Reservoir Introduction
Guanyin Mountain Reservoir is one of the designated historical sites of the "Taipei Waterway Water Source" and is a reservoir with a history of over a century. Its function is to store purified water that is suitable for drinking. This facility was retired after the completion of a modern water purification plant in the 66th year of the Republic of China (1977). After it was reopened in 2019 to promote domestic tourism during the pandemic, it became a new hidden gem to explore in Taipei City. Due to its architectural features, the reservoir is also known as the "Underground Water Palace." We invite you to visit this century-old historical site and explore its secrets.
