Shanshui Wetland Park Introduction
The Shanshui Wetlands, as an educational park, won the highest honor of the National Excellence in Construction Award in 2012 and the Excellence Award for Best Environmental Culture. At the entrance of the Shanshui Wetlands is a stone tablet erected by the county government labeled "Shanshui Wetland Park." The wetlands are home to several fixed sand plants, such as the beach spike rush, which resembles sea urchins. The wetland area is located on the western side of Shanshui, covering approximately 1.7 hectares. It employs a method of improving the height of the western embankment through gradual slopes and greening with vegetation on both sides of the embankment, embodying the concept of an invisible dike to connect the wetland areas inside and outside the dike. This creates an integrated wetland ecology and landscape combining aquatic, wetland, and dry plants. The wetland landscape outside the dike, with its vast coastal beaches and wetland features, highlights the uniqueness of the Shanshui region's wetlands, attracting many migratory birds that inhabit wetland environments during the winter. In addition to habitats for plants and animals, Shanshui Wetland Park is also equipped with facilities such as walking paths and observation decks, allowing visitors to enjoy the sea, birdwatching, and sunsets, and connecting with the Shanshui 30 Heights Park. 【Suggested Stay Duration】 1 hour
