Shanshui Wetland Park Introduction
Shanshui Wetland, operating under the name of an educational park, was awarded the highest honor of the 2012 National Excellence Construction Award and the Excellence Award for Best Environmental Culture. At the entrance of Shanshui Wetland, there is a stone tablet inscribed with "Shanshui Wetland Park" set up by the county government. The wetland is home to various pioneer plants, such as the beach grasses that resemble sea urchins. The wetland area is located on the west side of Shanshui and covers approximately 1.7 hectares. It employs methods to improve the height of the western levee by gradually lowering its elevation, along with filling and greening the slopes on both sides, which is a concept of invisible levees that connects wetland areas inside and outside the levee, forming a combined wetland ecology and landscape area that integrates aquatic, wetland, and upland plants. The wetland landscape outside the seawall, with its vast coastal beaches and wetland views, showcases the unique characteristics of the wetlands in the Shanshui area of Penghu, attracting many migratory birds that inhabit wetland environments during winter. In addition to serving as a habitat for various plants and animals, Shanshui Wetland Park is also equipped with facilities such as trails and observation decks, allowing visitors to enjoy views of the sea, birdwatching, and sunsets, as well as connecting with the Shanshui 30 Heights Park. 【Recommended visit duration】 1 hour
