Shanshui Wetland Park Introduction
Shanshui Wetland, under the name of an educational park, was honored with the highest award of the National Excellent Construction Award and the Best Environmental Culture Award in 2012. At the entrance of Shanshui Wetland, there is a stone tablet erected by the county government marking "Shanshui Wetland Park." The wetland is home to many pioneering plants, such as the beach grass that resembles sea urchins. The wetland area is located on the west side of Shanshui, covering approximately 1.7 hectares, utilizing a method of gradually lowering the height of the western embankment, as well as filling and greening both sides of the embankment, which embodies the concept of invisible embankments. This connects the wetland areas inside and outside the embankment, allowing the entire landscape area to combine aquatic, wetland, and dryland plants into one cohesive wetland ecology and landscape area. The wetland landscape outside the seawall features vast coastal beaches and wetland scenery, which are notable characteristics of the Penghu Shanshui area, attracting many migratory birds that reside in wetland environments during the winter. In addition to providing habitats for various flora and fauna, Shanshui Wetland Park is also designed with facilities such as walking paths and observation decks, allowing visitors to enjoy views of the ocean, birdwatching, and sunsets, while linking to the Shanshui 30 High Ground Park. 【Recommended stay duration】 1 hour
