Shanshui Wetland Park Introduction
Shanshui Wetland, under the name of an educational park, was awarded the highest honor and the Excellence Award for Best Environmental Culture in the National Excellent Construction Awards 2012. At the entrance of Shanshui Wetland, there is a stone tablet established by the county government named "Shanshui Wetland Park." The wetland is home to numerous fixed sand plants, such as the beach needlegrass, which resembles a sea urchin. The wetland area is located on the west side of Shanshui, covering an area of approximately 1.7 hectares. It adopts a method of gradually lowering the height of the dike on the west side and using soil filling and vegetation greening on both sides of the dike, which embodies the concept of an invisible dike. This approach connects the wet areas inside and outside the dike, forming a combined wetland ecological and landscape area that integrates aquatic, wetland, and dry plants. The wetland landscape outside the seawall, with its vast coastal beaches and wetland scenery, is characteristic of the Shanshui region in Penghu, often attracting many migratory birds that inhabit wetland environments during winter. In addition to habitats for flora and fauna, Shanshui Wetland Park is planned with facilities such as trails and observation decks for sea viewing, bird watching, and sunset watching, and it connects with the Shanshui 30 Heights Park. 【Recommended stay time】 1 hour
