San Lung Temple Introduction
Sanlong Temple, commonly known as the Lord Wang Temple, worships the Three Surnames Wang Ye from Chifeng, referred to as the Three Cities Eternal. It is said that the Three City Eternal carried the Wang Ye on a small boat to Xiaoyuqiu and built a grass temple, marking the beginning of Sanlong Temple. The Sanlong Temple's Three Cities Eternal three-year peace festival is a significant event in Liuqiu Township. Each time the festival takes place, the children of Liuqiu return home, bringing their families along. Fishing boats from Liuqiu temporarily halt operations and return to Xiaoyuqiu, filling the fishing port with various sizes of fishing vessels. The township office also holds a Wang Boat Festival on the night before the ceremony, featuring fireworks and a lively atmosphere. Men on the island, regardless of status, serve as the procession team, while women are responsible for providing snacks for the procession and meals for the worshipers. Drinks are freely available along the route, and various offerings to the deities showcase the unique customs of welcoming the Wang Ye in Xiaoyuqiu.
