Sanlong Temple Introduction
Sanlong Temple, commonly known as the Wangye Temple, is dedicated to the Three-Surnamed Wangye of Chifuh. Also referred to as the Three-Fu Qiansui, it is said that one of the Wangyes traveled in a small boat to Xiaoliuqiu and built a straw temple, marking the beginning of Sanlong Temple. The Sanlong Temple's Three-Fu Qiansui holds a peace festival every three years, which is a significant event in Liuqiu Township. During the festival, people who have migrated to other places return with their families, and fishing boats from Liuqiu suspend operations and return to Xiaoliuqiu, filling the harbor with boats of all sizes. The township office also holds a Wang Ship Festival evening event the night before the festival, featuring fireworks and a lively atmosphere. On the island, all men participate in the grand palanquin procession regardless of social status, while women are responsible for providing snacks for the palanquin bearers and lunch for the worshippers. Beverages are freely available along the route, and various rituals to honor the deities are unique characteristics of Xiaoliuqiu's Wangye welcome festivities.
