勝天公園

Sheng Tian Park, located between Magang and Jinsha Village, is situated on the west slope of Yuntai Mountain, adjacent to the Chushui Ao Reservoir. Covering an area of over ten hectares, it is planned along a coastal military road and represents the seaside park of the Matsu area. Next to the Chushui Ao Reservoir is a Tang-style pavilion called Sheng Tian Pavilion, built in 1990 by military forces, primarily modeled after the architectural style of the Zhihui Garden in Taipei's Wulai. It features a Song-style garden design, with a wooden structure topped by gray ceramic tiles, blending with the mountain and sea scenery, presenting a charming and elegant beauty. Due to termite damage, the wooden structure tilted over time, but was restored to its original appearance by the Matsu National Scenic Area Administration in 2004, granting it new life amid the lush greenery, resembling a Jiangnan garden with refined elegance. From the bridge above, one can enjoy panoramic views of the mountains and sea, and descend toward the coast. Within Sheng Tian Park, there is a forest of Taiwan beech trees, nurturing diverse native plant species of Matsu among the thickets. The ancient pavilions and winding corridors, with their high-pitched roofs, transform in late winter to early spring, when the first buds emerge, and the red leaves of the Chinese tallow punctuate the entire forest. Surrounded by ancient pines towering into the sky, far from the noise of the world, ascending the stone steps fills one with the beauty of "finding tranquility in a mountain." At night, one can also count the stars in the sky and listen to the sound of waves breaking against the shore, brimming with poetic sentiment.

Shengtian Park Introduction

Shengtian Park, located between Magang and Jinsha Village on the west slope of Yuntai Mountain, is adjacent to the Chushui Ao Reservoir and spans over ten hectares. Planned along a coastal route, it serves as a representative seaside park of the Matsu area. Next to Chushui Ao Reservoir stands a Tang-style pavilion, Shengtian Pavilion, built by the stationed troops in 1990. It mainly references the architectural style of the Zhi Shan Garden in Taipei's Waishuangxi and adopts a Song Dynasty garden style with its original wood frame and gray ceramic tiles, beautifully integrating the landscape of mountains and sea, presenting a rustic and elegant beauty. After the wooden structure was damaged by pests, the Matsu management office restored it to its original appearance in 2004, giving it new life and highlighting it beneath the lush greenery, akin to a Jiangnan garden, exuding refined charm. From the dam bridge, one can enjoy panoramic views of the mountains and sea, with pathways leading down to the coast. Within Shengtian Park, there is a forest of Taiwan beech trees, which nurtures a variety of native Matsu plant species amidst the woods. The ancient pavilion features winding corridors, and the ridge rises high. Each winter to early spring, when the new leaves begin to sprout, the red leaves of the sweetgum trees dot the entire mountain forest; surrounded by ancient pines, it provides an escape from the hustle and bustle. Ascending the stone steps, one feels the beauty of “finding tranquility in the mountains.” At night, one can also count the stars and listen to the crashing waves, filled with poetic sentiment.
