勝天公園

The Tranquil and Elegant Floral Paradise Located between Magang and Jinchang Village, Sheng Tian Park is situated on the west slope of Yuntai Mountain, adjacent to the Chushui Bay Reservoir, covering an area of over ten hectares. It is designed along a coastal military road, representing the seaside parks in the Matsu region. Next to the Chushui Bay Reservoir stands a Tang-style pavilion called Sheng Tian Pavilion, built by stationed troops in 1990. This pavilion is modeled after the architectural style of the Zhi Shan Garden in Taipei, featuring a Song Dynasty garden style with a wooden frame and gray tiled roof, harmoniously blending with the mountain and ocean scenery, presenting an ancient and elegant beauty. Due to insect damage, the wooden structure had suffered some collapse, but the Matsu National Scenic Area Administration restored it to its original appearance in 2004, giving it new life. Nestled among lush green trees, it resembles a Jiangnan garden, full of refined charm. From the bridge atop the dam, one can take in the panoramic views of mountains and seas, while a path leads down to the coastline. Within Sheng Tian Park, there are areas of Taiwan Beech forest that nurture a variety of native Matsu plant species. The winding corridors of the ancient pavilion have high-arched roofs, and as early spring approaches, the budding leaves of the Chinese Tallow tree sprinkle red hues throughout the forest. Surrounded by towering ancient pines, it offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle, and ascending the stone steps brings forth a sense of “finding peace in the mountains.” At night, visitors can count the countless stars in the sky and listen to the sound of waves crashing against the shore, filling the air with poetic sentiment.

Sheng Tian Park Introduction

The Tranquil and Elegant Floral Paradise is located between Magang and Jinsha Village, Sheng Tian Park is situated on the western slope of Yuntai Mountain, adjacent to the Chushui Harbor Reservoir, covering an area of over ten hectares. It is planned along a coastal military road and represents the seaside parks of the Matsu region. Next to the Chushui Harbor Reservoir stands the Tang-style pavilion - Sheng Tian Pavilion, built by the stationed troops in 1990, mainly referencing the architectural style of the Taipei Wulai Shuangxi's Zhishan Garden, adopting a Song Dynasty garden design style with a wooden frame and gray ceramic tiles on the roof, integrating the mountain and sea scenery, showcasing a rustic and elegant beauty. Later, due to insect damage to the wooden structure, it partially collapsed, but the Matsu Management Office restored it to its original appearance in 2004, giving it new life, nestled under the lush greenery, reminiscent of a Jiangnan garden, rich in artistic charm. From the dam bridge, one can enjoy the panoramic views of the mountains and sea, with pathways descending to the coastline. Within Sheng Tian Park, there is a section of Formosan sweet gum forest, and diverse native Matsu plant species thrive among the jungle. The winding old pavilion corridor and the uplifted pavilion ridge create a picturesque setting; every late winter to early spring, as new leaf buds emerge, the red leaves of the sweet gum add splashes of color to the entire forest. Surrounded by ancient pines and away from the hustle and bustle, climbing the stone steps is filled with the aesthetic of "finding peace in the mountains." When night falls, one can also count the stars in the sky and listen to the waves crashing, immersing in a poetic and picturesque atmosphere.
