Zhongzhu Harbor Introduction
Dongyin Township's main gateway. Dongyin is the northernmost island of the Matsu Archipelago and the closest to Taiwan, isolated in the East China Sea. Its landscape and topography are incredibly captivating, and calling it a national treasure level coastline is no exaggeration. The main access point to Dongyin Island is Zhongzhu Harbor. When a large ship enters the harbor, standing on the deck, one can clearly see the big red characters "Zhongzhu Harbor" carved into the rock wall, signifying that the long journey is about to come to an end. Upon landing, the striking statue of the "Dream Fish - Striped Sea Bream" at the dock serves as an important landmark on the island; to the northeast of Zhongzhu Harbor is a densely packed array of houses on the hillside, which are the lively and traditional Minnan villages of Lehua Village and Zhongliu Village—where tourists usually stop to seek food on Dongyin. Exploring the unique coastal landscape of Dongyin. The entire island of Dongyin is composed of granite, with beautiful sights including sea-eroded cliffs, sea-eroded pillars, and sea-eroded caves scattered throughout the island, often leaving visitors in awe. The coastal reefs, with their jagged outlines, and the high cliffs with deep waters, along with the varied high-value fish species that come to shore in different seasons, make fishing activities very active, and it has been recognized by Taiwanese anglers as a holy ground for rock fishing.
