East Sea Vigor Introduction
The best vantage point overlooking the panorama of Nan'ao is located on the mountain above Qidong in Nan'ao. There is a giant boulder inscribed with the words "East China Sea Heroic Wind." According to the Dongyin Township Gazetteer, in the spring of 1956, a patrol boat from the East China Sea Guerrilla Unit, stationed on the island, encountered several enemy vessels intruding into the waters. They bravely fought them off and returned triumphantly. The commanding officer, pleased with their victory against overwhelming odds, inscribed the words "East China Sea Heroic Wind" to honor their valor. Standing atop the mountain and looking down, one can enjoy a panoramic view of Nan'ao Village and the Zhongzhu Port area, taking in the beautiful scenery in its entirety. This is the only open high ground on Dongyin Island where one can enjoy a 360-degree view of the whole island.
