Gratitude Pavilion Introduction
Standing Pavilion offers a panoramic view of Dongyin and Xiyin. On the way to Xiyin along the Zhongzhu Dam, there is a pavilion featuring a statue of former President Chiang Ching-kuo, known as the "Gratitude Pavilion." It was built by the military and civilians of Dongyin in appreciation of Chiang Ching-kuo's support for significant developments on the island. Inside the Gratitude Pavilion, the statue of Chiang faces south, embodying the spirit of "kindness and naturalness, dedication and sacrifice" that represents his lifelong contributions. Climbing to the Gratitude Pavilion provides a 360-degree panoramic view of Dongyin and Xiyin, with a vast sea vista; in summer, the water sparkles, while in winter, the sea breeze is chilly, each season offering a different feeling.
