Monk Reading Scriptures Introduction
On the hillside of the "Er-Liu Military Post" in Xiyin Island stands a giant rock. From Zhongzhu Harbor, looking westward, the rock resembles a monk with deep meditation, coldly observing the trivial matters of the world, leisurely reading scriptures. The local residents named it "The Monk Reading Scriptures." "The Monk Reading Scriptures," towering above from Er-Liu Military Post, overlooks all types of vessels entering and leaving Zhongzhu Harbor. During sunset, when the sky is filled with rosy clouds, viewing "The Monk Reading Scriptures" from Nanao enhances the beauty of the sunset scenery. In the 1960s, when Lin Cangpu, the deputy commander of the First Coast Guard Fleet, gazed at "The Monk Reading Scriptures," he couldn't help but compose this verse: "With excitement, I land on Monk Mountain, speechless I admire the murmuring water, green rocks and withered grass in the slanting sun, lazily flowing east, asking if it will return."
