Dongyin Visitor Center Introduction
The first stop when visiting Dongyin should be the Dongyin Visitor Center, located along Zhongzhu Harbor on Zhongzhong Road, passing by the Baima Zunwang Temple. The Dongyin Visitor Center, completed in 2003, is situated on a hillside to the south of Zhongzhu Harbor and just below the Nankou Helicopter Airport, making it conveniently accessible from both locations. Unlike other visitor centers with traditional Eastern Fujian architectural styles, the Dongyin Visitor Center stands on the hillside with a low-profile design to withstand strong winds, making it a prominent landmark visible from Zhongzhu Harbor, which effectively guides visitors. The first floor of the visitor center features a tourist service center and a retail area, while the second floor serves a display function, with a rest area designed with motifs of lighthouses and seabirds. This provides visitors with an immediate understanding of Dongyin's rich ecological landscape, making it a worthwhile stop for first-time visitors. With abundant tourism resources, including historical sites, coastal erosion landscapes, wartime scenery, and native plant species, Dongyin is full of exploration opportunities. Visitors are encouraged to use the visitor center as their starting point, where they can watch introductory videos, collect brochures, or inquire about travel information, preparing themselves for the adventures ahead.
