One Line Sky Introduction
The Narrow Sky and Listening to the Waves is located at the left cape of Tianwang Ao on the eastern side of Dongyin Island. It is a steep sea-eroded trench with vertical rock walls that meet at the top, narrower at the top and wider at the bottom, connecting to the sky above and to the sea below. Whenever the tide comes in, the waves crash against the rocks at the bottom, creating a sound like a thousand horses galloping, echoing magnificently among the rock walls. Between the two cliffs, a tunnel has been constructed, along with a cement bridge connecting them, which is only a few dozen meters above sea level but boasts an impressive height of over a hundred meters. The rock wall features the characters "Tianfeng Lingtao," which beautifully expresses the charm of this scenic spot. These words were inscribed by General Lai Ming-tang, the then Chief of the General Staff, during his inspection of Dongyin in 1972, and they are carved into the towering rock wall, evoking a sense of isolation from the front lines. In the past, the Narrow Sky was a military control area, but it has now been completely opened to the public, and visitors can freely enter without prior reservation. Walking down the steps towards the end of the combat trenches, the sight of the "Narrow Sky" unfolds before you, and you can listen to the waves at any time. Note: Visitors are reminded to be careful on the staircases, watch out for slippery areas and falling rocks. The power will be turned off after the opening hours, so please cooperate and pay attention to travel safety.
