One Line Sky Introduction
The Narrow Sky is located at the left cape of Tianwang Ao on the eastern side of Dongyin Island. It features a steep marine erosion gorge where two vertical rock walls are adjacent and converge, with a narrow upper section and a wider lower section; it connects to the sky above and the sea below. When the tide rushes in, the waves crash against the rocks at the bottom, creating a sound reminiscent of galloping horses, echoing grandly between the rock walls. A tunnel has been built between the two cliffs, with a concrete bridge connecting them, which is just a few dozen meters above sea level yet boasts a majestic height of over a hundred meters. The rock walls are inscribed with the words "Tianfeng Lingtao" (Narrow Sky Listening to Waves), expressing the captivating essence of this spot. These words were penned in 1972 by General Lai Ming-tang, who was then the Chief of General Staff, during his inspection of Dongyin, and they are prominently displayed on the lofty rock wall, evoking a sense of detachment from the front lines. In the past, the Narrow Sky was a military controlled area, but it is now completely open to the public without the need for prior reservation. Visitors can descend the steps to reach the terminus of the combat readiness trenches, where the scenery of "Narrow Sky" unfolds before them, and they can listen to the sound of the waves at any time. Note: Visitors are reminded to be careful on the stairs, watch out for slippery conditions and falling rocks, and power will be turned off after opening hours, so please cooperate and pay attention to travel safety.
