Narrowest Point Introduction

Tianfeng Listening to the Waves at the One Line Sky is located at the left cape of Tianwang Ao on the eastern side of Dongyin Island. It is a steep coastal erosion gorge where two rock walls are vertically adjacent and meet. The top is narrow while the bottom is wide, connecting the sky above and the sea below. When the tides come in, the waves crash against the rocks at the bottom, creating a sound reminiscent of galloping horses, echoing magnificently between the rock walls. Between the two cliffs, there is a tunnel with a cement bridge that connects them, with the bridge surface only a few dozen meters above the sea, yet it boasts an impressive height of over a hundred meters. The rock wall features four large characters reading "Tianfeng Listening to the Waves," wonderfully expressing the charm of this attraction. These characters were inscribed in 1972 by General Lai Ming-tang, then Chief of the General Staff, during his inspection visit to Dongyin, adding a sense of isolation far from the frontline. In the past, One Line Sky was a military restricted area, but it is now completely open for free visits without the need for prior registration. By walking down the steps, visitors reach the end of the combat trench, where the view of "One Line Sky" unfolds before them, and they can head there anytime to hear the sound of the waves. Please note: Visitors are reminded to be careful on the steps, watch for slippery conditions and falling rocks. The power will be turned off once the opening hours are over, and visitors are urged to cooperate and pay attention to travel safety.
