Fairy Valley Introduction

Shenxian Valley, located in Nantou's Nanjiang, is a gorge formed by the confluence of Luhe Creek, Luchang Creek, and Fengmei Creek, showcasing a magnificent canyon landscape and breathtaking waterfalls. After rain, mist swirls around the falls, creating an ethereal atmosphere, which is how it earned the nickname "Shenxian Valley." Strolling through Shenxian Valley Waterfalls and the suspension bridge, which are considered sacred sites for the Atayal people, one finds that this area was once known as "Death Valley," a burial place for ancestors near the Luchang tribe. It had been closed off for many years, but after renovations by the management of the Taroko National Park, wooden walkways and suspension bridges engraved with indigenous totems have been installed, allowing visitors to safely enjoy the beautiful scenery. Standing on the suspension bridge, one can take in the entire picturesque view of Shenxian Valley, with massive boulders towering across the gorge, magnificent canyon walls, and awe-inspiring waterfalls, leaving one to marvel at nature's craftsmanship. This stunning scenery has also attracted the attention of director Wei Te-sheng, making it one of the filming locations for the movie "Warriors of the Rainbow: Seediq Bale." Cultural Restaurant for Close-Up Waterfall Views In addition to enjoying Shenxian Valley from the heights of the suspension bridge, the Qifen Zui Restaurant at the trail entrance offers a choice for closer views of the waterfalls. The restaurant immerses visitors in tribal culture, from its interior design to its menu. By walking down the stairs through the restaurant, one can also observe the grand and majestic waterfall landscape of Shenxian Valley from an even closer perspective.
