Luchang Introduction
Located in Donghe Village, Nanzhuang Township, Miaoli County, Lukang was formerly known as Jiubusi, named after the indigenous Jiubusi tribe that once inhabited the area. Later, due to the abundance of deer in the Lukang mountainous area, Han settlers named it Lukang when they began to cultivate Nanzhuang. It is a simple and secluded mountain village. Lukang is the furthest settlement of the Atayal tribe on the upper reaches of the Zhonggang River, positioned in the northeastern foothills of Jialishan and surrounded by the many peaks of the Jialishan massif. The lush greenery enveloping the entire area creates a breathtaking landscape, providing a feeling akin to a paradise on earth! Due to geological changes in the past, residents relocated to Dongjiang New Village above the Nanzhuang nursery, but most inhabitants have returned to Lukang to cultivate mushrooms and sugarcane for a living. The local transportation is inconvenient, allowing the pristine natural scenery to remain unchanged, with rolling hills, dense forests, and deep valleys, making the natural landscape magnificent and captivating.
