Luchang Introduction
Located in Donghe Village, Nanjiang Township, Miaoli County, Luchang was formerly known as Jiubusi, named after the indigenous Jiubusi community that once inhabited the area. Later, due to the abundance of deer in the Luchang mountainous region, Han settlers named it Luchang when they began to cultivate Nanjiang. It is a simple and secluded mountain village. Luchang is the farthest settlement of the Atayal people in the upper reaches of the Zhonggang River, situated in the northeast foothills of Jiali Mountain, surrounded by the peaks of the Jiali Mountain range. The lush greenery envelops the entire region, and the majestic mountain views and natural gorges create a feeling of being in a paradise. Due to geological changes, the residents migrated to Dongjiang New Village above the Nanjiang nursery, but most residents returned to Luchang to cultivate mushrooms and Tongcao for a living. The area is inconvenient for transportation, so the original natural landscape remains intact, with overlapping hills, dense forests, and deep valleys, showcasing a stunning and enchanting natural scenery.
