Donghe Walu Introduction
Waluo is located within the boundaries of Nanzhuang Township in Miaoli County, covering an area of approximately 76 square kilometers. The village is rich in diverse cultures, including the Saisiyat people residing in the Xiangtian Lake, Dawo Mountain, Dazhuwei, Egongji, and Donghe villages. The Atayal people inhabit villages such as Luchang, Luhu, Shibi, and Donghe. Hakka people live in locations like Hengpingbei, Luailiao, and Donghe, totaling 347 households and about 1,325 residents. Near the Donghe Suspension Bridge, there is a prominent Japanese wooden building constructed in the 13th year of the Republic of China, which was abandoned after the 77th year of the Republic of China and was not restored until the 94th year, thanks to the efforts of local people and funding from the Council of Indigenous Peoples.
