Dona Bridge Introduction

The Dona High Suspension Bridge is located between Wanshan and Dona on Longtou Mountain, measuring 232 meters in length and 103 meters in height, it spans over Zhuokou Creek and is known as the highest suspension bridge in Southeast Asia. During the Japanese colonial period, intense conflicts arose due to the aggressive indigenous policy, and the remote Dona Tribe was never captured. Thus, the Japanese proposed the construction of the bridge under the pretext of "peace and war" to transport food, which was, in fact, aimed at enforcing their indigenous policy. For the residents of Dona, this bridge is of great significance; it serves as a bridge of emotions for bidding farewell to family members, lovers, and friends. To view Longtou Mountain from a different perspective on the bridge, one must follow the directional signs leading to the Dona High Suspension Bridge, enabling access to the bridge and enjoying the panoramic view between Longtou and Longji. The bridge was rebuilt in 1998 and holds historical significance, making it worth a visit. It is recommended to spend about 1.5 hours there; the suspension bridge has a carrying capacity of 100 people, and motor vehicles are strictly prohibited from crossing. Cars can be parked at a nearby parking lot at the Wanshan end of the bridge.
