Dona Bridge Introduction
The Donagao Suspension Bridge is located between Wanshan and Donagao on Longtou Mountain, with a length of 232 meters and a height of 103 meters, spanning the Zhuokou Creek. It is known as the highest suspension bridge in Southeast Asia. During the Japanese colonial period, due to the aggressive policies towards indigenous tribes that incited intense conflicts, the remote Donagao tribe remained unconquered. Therefore, the Japanese proposed the construction of the bridge under the guise of "peace and war" to transport food, effectively aiming to facilitate their governance over indigenous people. For the residents of Donagao, this bridge holds significant meaning as a bridge for farewells between family members, lovers, and friends. To view Longtou Mountain from another perspective on the suspension bridge, one must follow the directional signs leading to Donagao Suspension Bridge, allowing access to the bridge and enabling visitors to enjoy the panoramic view between Longtou and Longji. The bridge was rebuilt in 1998 and contains a historical significance that is worth a personal visit. The recommended stay duration is approximately 1.5 hours, and the bridge has a capacity limit of 100 people, with a complete prohibition on vehicular traffic. Cars can be parked in the parking lot near the Wanshan end of the bridge.
