Dona Bridge Introduction

The Duona High Suspension Bridge is located between Wanshan and Duona at Longtoushan, measuring 232 meters in length and 103 meters in height. It spans the Zhuokou River and is known as the highest suspension bridge in Southeast Asia. During the Japanese colonial period, the strong indigenous policy led to fierce conflicts, and the remote Duona tribe was never conquered. Thus, the Japanese proposed the construction of a suspension bridge under the guise of "peace and war" to transport food, effectively facilitating their indigenous policy. For the residents of Duona, this bridge holds significant meaning as it serves as an emotional link for saying goodbye to loved ones, partners, and friends. To view Longtoushan from another perspective on the bridge, one must follow the directional signs that guide to the Duona High Suspension Bridge to access it and enjoy the panoramic view between Longtou and Longzhi. The bridge was reconstructed in the year 1998, carrying historical significance worthy of a personal visit. The recommended stay time is about 1.5 hours. The Duona High Suspension Bridge has a capacity limit of 100 people and completely prohibits the passage of motor vehicles; cars can be parked in the parking lot near the Wanshan end of the bridge.
