Shimen Cave Introduction
To reach Haiyin Temple, one must first pass through an arched stone gate, known as Shimen Gate, which serves as an entrance akin to a threshold. It is one of the twelve marvels of Mount Taiwu. Shimen Gate is constructed of solid, well-cut granite and is topped with a reversed-arched roof, with slightly raised corners that give it an elegant beauty. Inscribed on the horizontal beam are the four characters "Hai Shan Di Yi," handwritten by the Ming Dynasty loyalist Lu Ruoteng, and it is currently designated as a county historical monument.
