Shimen Entrance Introduction
To reach Haiyin Temple, one must first pass through an arched stone gate known as Shimen Pass, which is one of the twelve wonders of Mount Taiwu. Shimen Pass is constructed of solid and neatly arranged granite, topped with a reverse roof, with the corners of the ends slightly raised, giving it a sense of lightness and beauty. The horizontal plaque bears the four characters "Haishan First," handwritten by the loyal minister Lu Ruoteng of the Ming Dynasty, and is now designated as a county-level historic site.
