Plum Garden Introduction
Meiyuan, located next to the "Never Forget in Juhu" stone inscription on Mount Taiwu in Kinmen, is an important attraction for ascending the mountain. The park features a serene environment that harmonizes with the mountain and forest scenery, displaying different beauty in each season, making it a popular spot for visitors to rest and take photos. The name "Meiyuan" originated in 1987 when General Chiang Wei-kuo personally inscribed the two characters for "Meiyuan" and led the梅花 Association to plant hundreds of plum trees here, symbolizing steadfastness, elegance, and resilience. Although the number of plum trees has declined over the years due to natural environmental factors, the park still holds unique cultural significance and historical memories. Meiyuan is backed by the ancient temple Hain Temple on Mount Taiwu and faces the "Never Forget in Juhu" stone carving, providing a rich cultural atmosphere. During the Lunar New Year period, it often attracts travelers who come to climb and enjoy the magnificent views of Mount Taiwu and the tranquil ambiance of Meiyuan.
