Meiyuan Introduction
Meiyuan, located next to the "Wu Wang Zai Ju" inscription on Mount Taiwu in Kinmen, is an important attraction for those who ascend the mountain. The park features a serene environment and beautifully complements the mountain scenery, showcasing different vistas throughout the four seasons, making it a popular spot for visitors to rest and take photographs. The naming of Meiyuan stems from 1987, when then-general Chiang Wei-kuo personally inscribed the two characters "梅園" (Meiyuan) and led the Plum Blossom Association to plant hundreds of plum trees here, symbolizing steadfastness, elegance, and resilience. Although the number of plum trees has declined over the years due to natural environmental factors, the park still retains a unique cultural significance and historical memory. Meiyuan is backed by Haiyin Temple, an ancient temple on Mount Taiwu, and faces the "Wu Wang Zai Ju" inscription, creating a rich cultural atmosphere. Each year during the Lunar New Year period, it often attracts travelers who come to enjoy the magnificent views of Mount Taiwu and the tranquil ambiance of Meiyuan.
