Meiyuan Introduction

Located in the Taiwu Mountain area, after walking about 200 meters from the Observation Pavilion, you will reach Kinmen's landmark - the "Wu Wang Zai Ju" stone inscription. Due to its fame, it is often a background for tourists to take photos. The stone, standing over ten feet tall on the edge of a cliff, was inscribed in the 41st year of the Republic by former Taiwan leader Chiang Kai-shek during his inspection of Kinmen, recognizing its strategic position on the frontline and the responsibility to defend the nation. On both sides of the stone, there are resting pavilions and a plum garden, which was established as a memorial forest for Mr. Chiang Ching-kuo. Unfortunately, the plum trees have not grown well, and now the most prominent feature in the garden is Mr. Chiang’s inscription. Additionally, the Chiang Ching-kuo Memorial Museum in Zhongshan Forest, Zhushan, and the Mazu Temple in Kinmen all have plum trees planted by the military and civilians in earlier years!
