Jinshui Elementary School Introduction
The Huang family of the Shuitou settlement places a strong emphasis on education. As the number of students in the settlement increased, the original family temple used as a lecture hall became insufficient. The Huang family proposed the construction of a school, and with joint funding from the Shuitou Township community, Jinshui Elementary School was established in 1932. Jinshui Elementary School features a traditional academy layout in the form of a "回" character, commonly known as a "fanzi house," and it was the newest and largest western-style primary school in all of Kinmen at that time. The school has an exquisite facade, adorned with angels symbolizing purity and eagles soaring high; the interior features red brick columns symbolizing the homophonic meaning of "focus". Every detail is an expression of expectations for the students.
