Huang Hui-Huang Villa Introduction
Among the Western-style buildings constructed by the Huang family in Shuitou, the Huang Hui-Huang Mansion is the most spectacular. The Deyue Building is part of the Huang Hui-Huang Mansion. The main facade of the mansion features sculptures of a small lion and an angel, along with other clay sculptures crafted by artisans from Kinmen, including peacocks, curling grass, flowers and birds, elephants, butterflies, and a pair of dragons competing for a pearl on the main beam. The exterior decoration of the mansion bears the inscription "Year 20 of the Republic of China," indicating the year it was built. Additionally, there is a clock at the highest point indicating "12:40." This serves to remind future generations that while others rest at 12:00 noon, they must wait until 12:40 to take a break, encouraging descendants to work harder and be more diligent than others to achieve success.
