Huang Hui-Huang Mansion Introduction
Among the Western-style buildings constructed by the Huang family in Shuitou, the Huang Hui-huang Western-style building is the most magnificent, as the Dew Yuen Pavilion is part of the Huang Hui-huang Western-style building. The main facade features small lions and angel statues, along with other clay sculptures including peacocks, curled grass, flower and bird designs, elephants, butterflies, and the main beam's relief of two dragons seizing a pearl, all crafted by artisans from Kinmen. The exterior decoration of the building includes the inscription "Year 20 of the Republic of China," indicating the year of construction. Additionally, there is a clock at the highest point showing "12:40," primarily serving to remind future generations that while others take a break at noon, they must wait until 12:40 to rest, encouraging descendants to work harder and more diligently than others to achieve success.
