Jinwei Cantonese Congee Introduction
Jinwei Cantonese Congee is a 50-year-old establishment in Kinmen, located in the old market area of Jinhua. The traditional Cantonese congee is made from pork bones that are freshly slaughtered on the same day, simmered for dozens of hours with a secret recipe. The resulting broth is thick and creamy, rich in precious calcium, and when combined with white rice, it becomes congee. Once the congee base is ready, slices of the freshly slaughtered meat, pig liver, and handmade meatballs are added, creating a unique flavor that's nutritionally rich and suitable for the whole family for breakfast. Also not to be missed is the restaurant's standout dish, "Handmade Water Pan Fried Buns," which are made using traditional methods passed down from the owner's grandfather in his hometown in mainland China. Adhering to ancient practices, these purely handmade buns have a chewy skin and a carefully crafted filling that has remained unchanged for fifty years, making it absolutely worth trying again and again.
