Shuangli Lake / Shuangli Wetland Center Introduction
From a high vantage point overlooking the lake, the shape of Shuangli Lake resembles two fish embracing each other, which is how the lake got its name. On sunny days, the gentle breeze stirs ripples across the lake's surface, and the reflections of ancient houses are cast into the water, creating a serene and beautiful scene unique to Kinmen. Shuangli Lake and Cihu Lake are two major attractions that tourists love to visit. With rich biodiversity and flocks of water birds, a birdwatching trail has been specially established between the two lakes, allowing visitors to enjoy the lakeside scenery all at once. The Shuangli Wetland Nature Center introduces the natural resources of Kinmen, providing comprehensive knowledge about rare animals such as horseshoe crabs, black-faced spoonbills, Chinese white dolphins, and Eurasian otters. The nature center is built with a unique design, with its underground level located just beneath the lake's surface, allowing visitors to enjoy a cup of coffee or a dessert while watching the underwater ecosystem from small windows. The beautiful lotus flowers that bloom in summer are a sight not to be missed!
