Shuangli Lake/Shuangli Wetland Center Introduction
From a high vantage point, the surface of the lake takes the shape of two carp embracing each other, which is how the lake got its name, Shuangli Lake. On clear days, the gentle breeze stirs the ripples on the lake, and the reflections of ancient houses can be seen on the water, creating a tranquil and beautiful scene unique to Kinmen. Shuangli Lake and Cihu Lake are two major attractions that visitors love to visit, rich in ecology and teeming with water birds. A special bird-watching trail has been established between the two lakes, allowing one to enjoy the lakeside scenery all at once. The Shuangli Wetland Nature Center introduces Kinmen's natural resources, providing comprehensive knowledge about rare animals such as horseshoe crabs, pomfrets, Chinese white dolphins, and Eurasian otters. The nature center is uniquely designed, with its underground floor located just below the lake's surface. One can order a cup of coffee or a dessert and sit by a small window to observe the lake's underwater ecology. The beautiful lotus blossoms that bloom in summer are also a must-see!
