Shuangli Lake / Shuangli Wetland Center Introduction
From a high viewpoint, the surface of the lake resembles the shape of two entwined carps, which is how Shuangli Lake got its name. On clear days, the gentle breeze stirs ripples on the lake, and the reflection of old houses is mirrored in the water, creating a serene beauty that can only be seen in Kinmen. Shuangli Lake and Cihu Lake are two popular tourist destinations, rich in ecology and home to flocks of waterfowl. A birdwatching trail has been specially established between the two lakes, allowing visitors to enjoy the lakeside scenery all at once. The Shuangli Wetland Natural Center introduces the natural resources of Kinmen, providing comprehensive knowledge about rare animals such as horseshoe crabs, Mandarin fish, the Indo-Pacific humpbacked dolphin, and the Eurasian otter. The natural center is uniquely designed, with the underground floor located just beneath the lake's surface where visitors can order a cup of coffee or dessert and sit by the small window to observe the underwater ecology. The beautiful lotus flowers that bloom in summer are also a must-see!
