Shuangli Lake/Shuangli Wetland Center Introduction
From a high vantage point overlooking the lake, the shape of Shuangli resembles two entwined carp, which is how Shuangli Lake got its name. On sunny days, a gentle breeze stirs up ripples on the lake's surface, and the reflections of historical houses on the water create a tranquil scene that can only be seen in Kinmen. Shuangli Lake and Cihu Lake are two popular attractions among visitors, featuring rich ecology and flocks of waterbirds. A special birdwatching trail has been established between the two lakes, providing a complete view of the lakeside scenery. The Shuangli Wetland Natural Center introduces Kinmen's natural resources and provides knowledge about rare animals such as horseshoe crabs, flying fish, Chinese white dolphins, and Eurasian otters. The natural center is uniquely designed, with its underground level located just below the surface of the lake, where visitors can enjoy a cup of coffee or a dessert while watching the underwater ecosystem through small windows. The beautiful sight of lotus flowers in summer is also not to be missed!
