Shuangli Lake / Shuangli Wetland Center Introduction
From a high vantage point overlooking the lake, the shape of Shuangli Lake indeed resembles two fish embracing each other, which is how the lake got its name. On sunny days, gentle breezes create ripples on the lake surface, and the reflections of ancient houses are seen on the water, presenting a serene beauty that can only be found in Kinmen. Shuangli Lake and Cihu Lake are two major attractions favored by visitors, featuring rich ecosystems and flocks of water birds. A bird-watching trail has been specially established between the two lakes, allowing visitors to enjoy the lakeside scenery in one go. The Shuangli Wetland Natural Center introduces Kinmen's natural resources, providing complete information about rare animals such as horseshoe crabs, mudskippers, Chinese white dolphins, and Eurasian otters. The natural center is uniquely designed, with its underground level located just beneath the lake surface, where you can order a cup of coffee or dessert and sit by a small window to observe the underwater ecology. The beautiful lotus flowers that bloom in summer are also a must-see!
