Remembering the Past at Juluowei Introduction
Along Yuzhang Road, near the Hsian Temple on Mount Taiwu, you can reach the stone inscription of "Never Forget at Ju," personally inscribed by President Chiang Ching-kuo. This phrase was used to encourage military personnel and civilians in wartime, inspiring them to emulate the spirit of Tian Dan, who overcame greater numbers during the Warring States period. The towering stone carving, rising several tens of meters, is one of the most famous landmarks in Kinmen and has now become a popular photo spot for tourists. Although Mount Taiwu is only 253 meters above sea level, it offers several hiking trails of varying difficulty for visitors to choose from. In addition to the easy-going Yuzhang Road Trail and the Caicuo Ancient Trail, the challenging Doumen Ancient Trail, which requires rope climbing, is also quite popular. Upon reaching the top, you can enjoy the stunning views of Kinmen!
