Nanshan Four Camps Area Introduction
The Nanshan Head Fourth Military Zone, opened for visits in early 2018, is a coastal military stronghold located at the southernmost point of Lieyu (also known as Little Kinmen). The area features two artillery forts, seven underground shooting bunkers, and one command center, with tunnels that should not be missed, reaching three stories deep. The layout and structure of these tunnels are unique compared to many others found in Kinmen. Special interactive experiences have been planned within the military buildings to understand the history through games, making it both educational and entertaining. Additionally, the stunning blue sea view outside the military zone attracts visitors. In the past, there were concerns about enemy bombings or stealth landings, but now the observation windows serve as excellent viewpoints. Visitors can also step out of the fortresses to get up close to Kinmen's only basalt terrain, with its diverse rock layers contrasting against the waves of the sea, adding richness to the memories of Kinmen's waters.
