Nanshan Tou Four Camp Area Introduction
The Nanshan Fourth Military District, opened to visitors in early 2018, is a coastal military stronghold located at the southernmost tip of Lieyu (also known as Little Kinmen). The military area features two gun emplacements, seven underground firing point bunkers, and one command post. The tunnels here are not to be missed, extending three stories deep, with a unique layout and structure that are rare among the many tunnels in Kinmen. Within the military buildings, various interactive experiences are specially designed to educate visitors about history through games, making learning enjoyable. Visitors are also attracted by the stunning blue sea views outside the military district; where once there were concerns about enemy bombings or stealthy landings, the observation windows now serve as excellent viewing platforms. Stepping out of the fortress, visitors can get up close to Kinmen's only basalt terrain, with its diverse rock layers framed by the rippling sea, making the coastal experience a rich part of the travel memories.
