Nanshan Head Fourth Camp Introduction
The Nanshan Head 4th Military Camp, which opened for visits in early 2018, is a coastal military stronghold located at the southernmost tip of Lieyu. The camp includes two forts, seven underground firing bunkers, and one command post, with tunnels that are worth exploring; they extend three stories deep and have a unique layout and structure compared to the numerous tunnels in Kinmen. The military buildings within the camp have specially planned interactive experiences that allow visitors to learn about history through games, combining education with entertainment. The stunning blue sea views outside the camp also attract visitors; in the past, there were concerns about enemy bombings or nighttime landings, but now the lookout windows serve as excellent observation points. Visitors can also step out of the fortress to closely experience Kinmen's only basalt terrain, where the varied rock layers contrast beautifully with the ocean waves, enriching the memories of Kinmen's travel experiences.
