Ichiro Mackerel Soup Introduction
Located near the Beigang Chaotian Temple, there is a local eatery specializing in dinner and late-night snacks called Ichiro Fish Soup. Established in 1961, it is currently managed by the second-generation owner, Hsu Yi-Liang. Our floating fish soup features mackerel coated in sweet potato starch, cooked in boiling water until it floats, then topped with cabbage and egg drop for a thickened broth. The taste is fresh and sweet, with chunky fish that has a delightful chewiness, making it one of the favorite late-night snacks among the locals. Additionally, we offer tender braised pig's trotters and fragrant pork rib rice, which are classic dishes that gourmet food lovers must try! We welcome friends visiting Beigang to stop by and enjoy a late-night snack with us.
