Tamalakau means "warrior" in the Puyuma language, located at an altitude of 600 meters in the "Tamalakau Medicinal Plant Park" in Puyuan Township, Taitung County. The area covers more than three hectares of forest land, including over one hectare dedicated to medicinal plants and wild vegetables, where hundreds of lively vegetables and herbs are cultivated. It also features the "Tamalakau Scenic Restaurant," which offers breathtaking views. The observation platform stands within the park, providing a panoramic view of the vast landscape, from the lush flowers and green trees beneath to the plains of Taitung City and the Pacific coastline in the distance. The expansive sight allows one to quickly relax, as if transported to a paradise on earth, taking a deep breath to slowly connect the body with the earth and find inner peace. The "Tamalakau Scenic Restaurant" focuses on self-grown vegetables, allowing guests to pick and blanch their own ingredients. It also offers various health-boosting soups, such as herbal chicken soup and five-element soup, along with bay leaf rice, fruits, and sweet soups. We warmly welcome everyone to come up the mountain to enjoy clean, natural, healthy, and delicious food while appreciating the beautiful scenery of Taitung, nourishing your body and soul.
