Tamalakau, meaning "warrior" in the Puyuma language, is located at an elevation of 600 meters in the "Tamalakau Medicinal Plant Park" in Beinan Township, Taitung County. It covers over three hectares of mountainous land, including over one hectare dedicated to medicinal plants/wild vegetables where hundreds of fresh produce and herbs are cultivated. The "Tamalakau Scenic Restaurant," boasting stunning views, is situated within the park. The observation platform allows visitors to take in the vast scenery, from the flowers and greenery beneath to the plains of Taitung City and the Pacific coastline in the distance. The expansive view offers a quick means of relaxation, making one feel as if they are in a paradise on earth. Taking a deep breath and slowly connecting with the earth can bring a sense of inner peace. The "Tamalakau Scenic Restaurant" focuses on self-grown vegetables, allowing guests to pick their own produce for blanching. It also offers a variety of healthful soups such as Thunder God Tea Chicken Soup and Five Elements Soup, along with bay leaf steamed rice, fruits, and sweet soups.
