Tai'an Village / Daba Liujiu Village Introduction
Tai'an Village is the Tamalakaw community of the Pingpu Indigenous people, originally part of the eight tribes of the Beinan people, located at the foot of Mount Daba Liujiu. A well-known figure from this area is A-mei Chang, celebrated as the "Queen of Chinese Pop." Although this is A-mei's hometown, there is no information or signage related to her in the village; it does not capitalize on her fame, opting instead to maintain its simplicity and tranquility, which is rare in today's colorful modern society. Upon arriving at Tai'an Village, visitors can first explore the village's traditional cultural ritual square, which features traditional Beinan structures such as the Bala crown, ancestral spirit house, and observation platform. The architecture here is more rustic and natural compared to other Beinan villages, exuding a strong sense of nostalgia. The cultural square is the site for the Harvest Festival held every July and the Grand Hunt Festival at the end of the year. During these times, many tourists flock to the area. Interested visitors should keep an eye out for information to experience the two major ceremonies of the Beinan people firsthand.
